Black Cat To Make An Appearance In The Amazing Spider-Man Game

By Ishaan . April 26, 2012 . 4:01pm

As you already know, The Amazing Spider-Man game will take place after the events of the upcoming movie of the same name. This is allowing developer, Beenox, to take some liberties with the game’s story, such as adding villains like the Rhino to the story. Today, they revealed another character they’ll be including.

That’s Felicia Hardy, AKA the Black Cat. Beenox say she “may not have Spidey’s best interests in mind”. No further details have been provided, but this does raise the question of whether or not added characters such as these—Black Cat is a pretty major player—being in the game will influence future movies in any way.

Just this week, Sony announced the names of the the writers they’ve contracted to write the sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man. Production of the sequel will begin in 2013.

    Now she has glasses….fetish increasing.
The trilogy ignored the games,so I dont think this will change much.

You say that, but let me remind you that Harry’s green goblin was playable in the Spiderman 1, and he ended up as the green goblin in the third movie. Of course, on the other hand, Stan Lee was in all 3 movies, and he didn’t even get to voice any character in the 3 games. But I heard he might be a playable character in this game, so I guess all’s good?

      • XiaomuArisu

Playable Stan Lee? unexpected but awesome!
About Harry, yes he was playable but storywise he became the GG much later with a different suit.So if one of the villians of the game show up in the seqeul the question is if its ignore the game or not.

  • LynxAmali

Hasn’t she always been in the games?

At least, all the ones I’ve played. The exception being Ultimate and the adaptions of movies one and 2.

  • Oh great, the new Spiderman looked strange enough but now we have a hipster Black Cat to top it off?

    • “hipster Black Cat”

By far one of the the stupidest comments I’ve read on this site.

  • Guest

What actress are they basing her off as?

  • ZBaksh386

She looks more like Silver Sable than black cat.

    • I guess they always kinda looked alike, but it’s even worse now that they decided to replace cat’s mask with glasses for some reason.

    • puchinri

Yeah, I really wouldn’t have guessed it was her that much.

    • Godmars

Yeah. The gun and glasses aren’t helping.

      • Scallion

The glasses are helping something on my end.

  • puchinri

I want to say I’m disappointed with game developers taking so many striking liberties with characters (among other things), but as it is, many of the actual writers and heads of the companies barely care about their series and characters anymore it feels like, so why should I set expectations for devs. :’/

Actually, Beenox did a fantastic job on characters so far. The Shattered Dimensions game had great characters and brilliant design, it just suffered a bit with repetitive gameplay. Beenox seems to actually love spiderman and pays a lot of attention to the details. I strongly agree with your overall sentiment, but this isn’t a great example of it. At least IMHO.

      • puchinri

Ah, I recall Shattered Dimensions looking pretty good, especially design-wise. This is a much better interpretation than I usually do see as far as games go (especially as branching off of the new movie, right?).

It’s relatively close but still new, but I think they kind of dropped the ball with some key details that could have made her more identifiable. But some of the other characters will probably be handled much better. I have some faith now that I know it’s the SD people, at least~. Thanks for that bit of info!

  • Göran Isacson

Now all I can wonder is if this game will have an “Ultimate Spiderman” moment where Black Cat makes out with Spiderman, then he unmasks and she realizes he’s a teenager and WAY younger than she is, and the realization makes her vomit.

I’d LOVE this game if that happened here.

    • LaserVision

Nope. Andrew Garfield is too dreamy for that to happen.

      • Göran Isacson

Ha ha, AND he’s about… 27 years old. Yeah this is one “teenager” no one will have to feel like a cradlerobber for lusting after. Hooray, I guess.

  • I’ll admit that I don’t know much about Spider-Man. Which is why when I read “Black Cat,” I immediately thought that the article meant Train Heartnet from Black Cat. And that would have been weird, LOL.
