Last year, the developers of Söldner-X, Eastasiasoft, announced a PlayStation 3 strategy RPG titled Rainbow Moon. Today, a new trailer was released for the game via the PlayStation blog, and you can watch it below:

Rainbow Moon will be released as a PlayStation Network download sometime this year. A price for the game hasn’t been announced yet, but the developers say it will probably not be over $15.

I had no idea this existed. It looks fun! For $15 or less, it’s not a bad deal at all considering how much content it has.

why is there no psvita version? i think is very possible, if we can get retro city why not this game as well.

    • Ryos

They’ve said they’re looking into that but they have experience working with the PS3 hardware so it made sense to go with that first.

  • This actually looks like a really good game. It really makes me think of the old PS1 era RPGs, but with a nice graphical boost.

That being said, I don’t really like the art style. :X But it does look fun!

With how well Soldner X-2 was I would buy whatever their next game is blindly. They have fairly good production values. Though this was a great trailer. 40 hrs of playtime, end game content, 100 special skills, what even? This needs to take off and more western companies should try the genre.

  • looks interesting

this should hold me over until we get Fire Emblem Awakening state side

  • Don’t like the character design but the environment design is great and the game looks pretty fun.

  • hadjimurad

like others before, great trailer, environments, system looks fun, character art design….um, no.

  • Ravage27

This appeals to me greatly. Gonna help spread the word, i want to see more games like this on the PSN.

  • Smashlampjaw

    This looks freaking awesome

  • Learii

its look  great but i wonder if there  different or something

  • Looks like a Disgaea wannabe, though doesn’t seem to be in a bad way.

    • puchinri

Heh, I was thinking the same thing.

  • The graphics are very, boingy? Is that the word (I made up) that I’m looking for? Anyways, it seems like it could be fun, but SRPGs are such a time commitment/sink and there are just too many games out there that I want to try.

  • AstroCat

Looks like a good RPG/strategy game, but the character and creature designs are ass. Reminds me of Wii shovelware.

    • puchinri

Or any of the shovelware that the consoles see. But yeah, I agree. Some of it is a bit lacking in comparison to the rest, sadly.
