Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time Is Also Headed To The PlayStation Vita

Sanzaru Games, developers of Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time, aren’t just working on the PlayStation 3 version of the game—they’re also developing a PlayStation Vita version, which Sony announced last night. Both versions are planned for release this fall, and will feature cross-save compatibility.

Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time picks up after Sly 3 left off. Sly is faking amnesia so he can be with his girlfriend, Carmelita, who’s also playable in the new game. When Sly ultimately ends up rejoining the Cooper gang on a time-travelling adventure, Carmelita finds herself in the thick of things, too.

Since there’s time-travel involved, you’ll get to play as one of Sly’s ancestors, too. Late last year, Sony shared that Rioichi Cooper, who was introduced in the first Sly game, will be playable as well.

  • Interesting, I know my younger brother’s already super excited for this and I cannot blame him. Sly was one of the best franchises of the previous console generation. It’s nice to see it continuing.

So it’s gonna be on both the PS3 and PSV? Interesting, guess the only real debate now is which version to get.

Either way, I’m super excited for Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time. The other 3 Sly Cooper games were amazing and probably some of the best PS2 games I’ve played.

From what i heard the ps3 version is 60fps and the psv is 30. If that helps

Source? Vita plays a lot of games at 60 FPS.

    •  I’d go with the Vita version due to being able to put it in standby and instantly resume (rather than having to reboot the system, relaunch the game, etc), as well as general portability.

  •  I need to get all the HD collections of Sly Cooper, Jak and Daxter, and Rachet and Clank at some point this year. Played bits of each of those games, never got to play or beat them in full.

I cannot wait for this game!!!

I am so excited that Sly is back!  I can’t wait for this game! (^_^)

I really thought the series was done with the 3rd, so glad that it’s not.

  • zferolie

I’m glad they are keeping with how 3 ended. Some reboots tend to mess those things up.

I liked  Carmelita, so I’m glad to see her back and playable

Is the Vita release of this game really that surprising, you know I hope they do that “trans-farring” thing with this game.

  • Not that this isn’t neat but the last thing vita needs is more port of console games.

  • Nice. I would rather play this on a handheld anyway. I hope the entire Sly Collection makes it to the Vita.

Genuinely excited for this news, but my wallet’s currently huddled up, crying in the corner.

  • finally, i can play sly in the washroom

On the one hand, go Carmelita! Fight to get your man back from the clutches of a lawless life… and possibly, you know, get the opportunity to build a life together that isn’t based on a lie because I’m pretty sure there were like, warrants and stuff out on Sly Cooper even if he said he didn’t remember anything of his past exploits in 3.

on the other hand… I wonder if having to play a different Cooper-ancestor in this timey-wimey little trip will be diluting the game with too many characters, if we have the Ancestors, Sly AND Murray and Carmelita and all the others.

  • Solomon_Kano

Oh snap. Sly on the go? Sold. Again.

The more I think on it, Sony should do this more with first party efforts. That Playstation All-Stars whatever whatever would be cool to see on the go.

  • Abhishek Posooa

    OH YEAH!!!!
    I’m sold…
