Square Enix released images today of two of their upcoming Play Arts Kai figures based on Batman: Arkham Asylum. The two we’re looking at today are Batman Armored and Harley Quinn. Take a look at both figures below:

Square haven’t officially announced release dates for these figures, but they are listed on their Play Arts Kai website, alongside two other figures—a regular Batman and one of the Joker. They’re listed for release on Amazon in August.

Oh, man! That Harley Quinn figure is awesome. I like the puppet, it adds so much interest and spark to the character and figure. I like her boots, too!

For Batman, I think his cape is best, because it doesn’t rely on that sheen that his armor has, it’s plain, yet the folds and dynamics make it complex. it adds some of that mystery and darkness, but it’s also a bit protective, too. Like, how it wraps around him, I think it’s very symbolic!

The armor, of course, is the centerpiece of it all. I like the sheen, and how it highlights all of the muscles, it makes him look invincible! Such detail.

    Very nice! (◕‿◕✿)

Harley Quinn figure is all I want………*nose bleed*

I love Batsy and Batsy’s universe, but those figures… Ugh. I hate it when Batman is draw/sculpted as a HUGE MOTHERF****R. It looks stupid and unreal. Yes, superhero comics aren’t realistic, but Batman is the most realistic superhero I know, and he has a lot of good stories where he’s portrayed the way he truly is – a well-trained and really smart human being. He isn’t a huge pile of muscles that solves things by kicking everyone’s ass, and that’s the impression I get from that figure. People seem to forget that Batman is a DETECTIVE.

And Harley Quinn looks like a walking blow up doll like always.

    • Iiiii’m pretty sure most of the bulk there is from his armor. That’s the “Armored” Batman figure, after all.

Even without armor on I’m sure he’s still pretty huge.

    •  Also, being a huge pile os muscles doesn’t mean your only option is kicking everyone’s ass. Being muscular doesn’t make you stupid.

      • Exactly, as another example of Brains AND Brawn, look no further than Bane himself.

        • rebecasunao

Too bad Arkham Asylum’s Bane was a dumb dog. >_>

      • rebecasunao

By stupid I mean ugly/weird/unfitting, not someone lacking knowledge. Also I never said that muscular guys only know how to use their strenght and not the brains.

God, these things are fucking ugly.
