Chinese MMO God Slayer Runs On CryEngine 3, Looks Pretty

By Ishaan . May 22, 2012 . 8:30am

We’ve already got God Eater, but Chinese online games developer, ChangYou, are working on an MMORPG titled God Slayer. Like Project E:st by Polygon Games, God Slayer is an MMO that runs on Crytek’s proprietary CryEngine technology—CryEngine 3 (Crysis 2), specifically.

God Slayer’s world is a blend of eastern and western mythology. You can view a trailer for the game above, and a few screenshots below. ChangYou hope to roll the game out worldwide at some point, but haven’t provided a launch date yet.

    Getting Blade & Soul Vibes.

    Also, dat water

What other people see: This looks pretty good.
What I see: This will never run on my cruddy computer.

Luckily, it wouldn’t cost you much to run modern, demanding games in general. Even low end laptops aren’t doing too bad with games at this point.

  • RaikageV

Maybe I’ll play it when they release it here… 2017.

  • Looks very pretty indeed, and it looks like Action MMO, that’s pretty cool to see MMO evolves like this from point and click MMO. The characters in red and jumping reminds me of Songoku. Too bad my PC can’t handle the awesomeness of this game or any other high-end games like this not to mention the bad internet connection. Last I played MMO (Luna Online), it disconnects every 30 minutes -_-

Speaking of MMO, I’m looking forward to Blade and Soul for console, love Hyung Tae-Kim’s art and hope we’ll see something about it soon.

  • Looks like Asura put on some weight.

  • Wyzen!?

  • What was the name of the Chinese MMO that would be released on PlayStation 3? I read it somewhere once, but I have since forgotten the name of that game…

You might be thinking of Blade & Soul which was going to get a Playstation 3 release too. Does kind of look a little similar, but Blade & Soul is definitely way more complete! And as Sakurazaki, and KotaroInugami said below, Blade & Soul is Korean o3o~

      • KotaroInugami

        If so, it’s Korean*

      • Sakurazaki

And it is Korean, not Chinese.

      • badmoogle

         And definitely more pretty!

  • How very “Asura’s Wrath”……

looked like a high res Evergrace

Whelp, that took my exact thoughts.

It is good that places outside of Japan in Asia are getting interested in developing video games. I just wish they would make more stuff outside of the online variety.

Also, can I play as something other than a musclebound dude? I would enjoy that.

  • Wasn’t God Slayer the original name of Crystalis?

    •  and then it got ported to the gambeoy color and everyone hated it?

  • Darkrise

Definitely reminded me of Blade and Soul. Though not as beautiful. =)

Meh. I got Tera and I got BAMs.

  • I’ve always wanted to see more of this new tech used for fantasy environments. Me gusta!
