In-game footage? Nope, that’s still a while away. You’ll have to wait until Konami’s E3 events if you want to see Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance in action. Until then, though, here’s a video of the…E3 demo title screen:

I have my fingers crossed for fast and gratifying 60fps action. I want someone to prove that it is possible to make a better third-person melee action game better than Ninja Gaiden. I’ve been waiting a long time.

Its already been proven with Bayonetta and Devil May Cry3;)

Never understood the love for Ninja Gaiden series, while the first game was awesome, the sequels (2 was OK but 3 is a pathetic excuse for an action game) have been increasingly more mediocre with each release.

If you mean Ninja Gaiden Black(known as Sigma on PS3), then yes, it was great, but difficulty wasn’t as great as in Ninja Gaiden II(Sigma 2 on PS3), though the difficulty is really high only on 360, PS3 got it castrated. I never even once died in PS3 version on highest difficulty, while on 360 I died regularly on middle(path of the warrior) difficulty, and I’m way better with 360 controller than with PS3 one.
3rd is a pathetic excuse for a game, a game in Ninja Gaiden series.

Bayonetta was a contender. I had my fingers crossed for that one. Then, I played through it. It simply wasn’t as good. One of the major factors at work was how they interrupted the flow of play for those torture attacks. Most importantly though, was the fact that some boss battles changed the rules of the game. Instead of requiring masterful demonstration of skills learned during normal play, some of the boss fights asked you to learn a new system. They changed the camera. They added minions to gate off the boss. They just didn’t have boss fights that felt like natural challenges.

Devil May Cry 3 is a game I only tried once. It came at a bad time. I just wasn’t in the mood for the type of story and characterization it had to offer, so I walked away. I could always give it another shot, but I thought 1 was boring; I skipped 2, and 4 was a thoroughly limited snoozefest.

Ninja Gaiden on the Xbox (I have not played Black) is the most enjoyable and purest of the modern third-person melee action games. Part 2 wasn’t that great for a Ninja Gaiden game, but it was solid. Part 3, the weakest NG, is still a better action game than GoW or DMC despite its frequent interruptions to the flow and its removal of key elements of the NG series.

    Aaagh! What a tease!

  • Arcm

I hope there is an announcement of it coming out this year. With some kind of ridiculous collectors edition with a badass Raiden statue… at least in this Metal Gear fanboys dream.

    •  I wouldn’t mind a life sized replica of his sword.

    • Anime10121

Agreed, only with less statue and more artbook :P

      • Arcm

Lol, give me both : )

  • Wouldnt he get tired of striking that pose too long ?

    • LuciferD666

NAh he’s a cyborg. Limitless energy lol.

  • Solomon_Kano

I need this demo. Like NOW. I really can’t wait to see this at E3.

Please be out this year with an awesome LE…

  •  I sure hope there’s a trophy for looking at the title screen for more than 30 minutes…hehe

  • Souji Tendou

    Get hyped me, get hyped!
    I can’t wait for E3, who’s with me here?

  • Shadowman

No gameplay no nothing come on.

  • Who else was thinking “freaking Platinum!” while watching that?  I wasn’t even interested in this until they got put on the project.

    • z_merquise

An action game featuring a futuristic ninja/samurai looked appealing to me. So I’m a bit interested with MG Rising when it was first announced but I became more hyped with the game once Platinum Games became the developer.

  • I hope there’s more on E3 than just the menu.

Anyway, on an unrelated note, Tomba! coming this summer to the PSN!!

    • You are the the harbinger of great news, thanks :)

    • boundries_san

Ohhh u deserve a praise for bringing this good news here.

      HAILL Heehee!!!!

  • Sesshomaru

    Revengeance…hahaha oh geez that’s a stupid name.

  • Woo, Raiden!~

As one of your fanboys out of the 5 Raiden fanboys in the world, I simply can’t get myself to calm down till I get in control of your beautiful flowing hair again.

    Till then, MGS2 HD!

  • CrimsonalCore

For some reason, that title screen reminds me of MGSPO title screen. o-o Now I’m interested in this game.

  • CirnoLakes

Oh Raiden, you sexy androgynous thing!

  • This looks amazing! Shows a whole bunch of epic in one screen, nice lol

  • Friggin’ Radical.

  • omeganeko

I am so scared (and excited) right now.

  • Raiden is a fucking baddass, he was cool in mgs2 but now even more so since he’s a cyborg an not to mention his look now ect.

the style of gameplay that it seems platinum has taken with this game is perfect for his baddassery, lol.

can’t wait to slice up some fools, i think this game will be better than ninja gaiden 3 too, even though it was good enough how it was regardless of it’s reception by elitest NG fans.

but yeah we’ll see, i don’t think MGRR will dissapoint one bit.
