Grab Resident Evil: Chronicles HD In June, Or Either Game Separately In July

By Ishaan . May 25, 2012 . 3:31pm

Earlier this week, Capcom Japan released a new trailer for the Resident Evil: Chronicles HD Collection for the PlayStation 3, along with a Japanese release. Today, Capcom USA announced a date of their own—June 26th.

Or, to be precise, that’s when you’ll be able to download the Resident Evil: Chronicles HD Collection as a whole, which means buying both The Umbrella Chronicles and The Darkside Chronicles. If you want to buy either game separately, that will have to wait until July 17th.

Together, both games will set you back $27. They’ve been updated with HD visuals, Trophies and PlayStation Move support.

Capcom, how about you put this on the Xbox 360 as well?

    smh, playstation already has RE1-3…

    • idrawrobots

to Play with a controller? The Kinect is not good enough for a game like this.

      • ResidentMetroid

This version plays with Move and the duelshock controller.

        • Jake Joe

That would mean Capcom actually have to make a disc for Xbox 360

          • ResidentMetroid

No. If RE4 and RECV were ported through Games on demand why shouldn’t this?

          • Nemesis_Dawn

Because the 360 doesn’t have the controller to properly play this.

Either accept that you don’t get every game if you only own one system or do what I did and buy a PS3 as a secondary system. Now, I never have to complain about not getting a game because I can get stuff for both.

          • ZEROthefirst

Simple answer, they’re making this game more for the motion controllers. Kinect doesn’t read very well and can’t be used, and in Japan the 360 has horribly low sales and not many companies see a good source of income with it.

        • Exactly his point. The only thing viable in XBOX is the use of a Controller.

          • ResidentMetroid

I really don’t see anything bad with just playing with a controller…

          • idrawrobots

I feel like they are too fast paced to play easily with a mere thumb stick.

    • Nemesis_Dawn

Move controller is the reason. No one in their right mind would want to play this on a standard 360 controller and you can’t do it with Kinect, so light gun games, like this or the House of the Dead series or Dead Space Extraction will most likely remain PS3 and Wii/Wii-U exclusive for the near future, unless Microsoft make a Move-like controller to go with Kinect.

      • ResidentMetroid

There are plenty of people who would play this on control. This works on nearly every game that requires “special” controllers(Fighting games>Fightstick, racing games>steering wheel).

        • Nemesis_Dawn

Not the same thing, AT ALL.

Anyway, there’s no use arguing this. You know your options. Buy a PS3, buy a Wii, or do without.

          • ResidentMetroid

Tell me how is it not the same thing? If I can have the option to use either control then obviously it’s the same thing.

While sure there’s no chance the game will come to the 360, you seem pretty sure the game doesn’t work on pad. I played once a game similar to this, it was a light gun type and I played it with pad. I had no problems with the game on pad so why would this one be any different?

      • ddh819

why doesn’t the kinect work for this type of game? I’ve never tried Kinect so I really don’t know the limitations.

  • Nemesis_Dawn

Can’t wait to download these. Love light gun games.
