At their E3 press conference this afternoon, Electronic Arts showed off co-op footage of Dead Space 3, featuring Isaac Clarke and new character, John Carver. While the co-op feature is entirely optional, playing the game this way will show you extra story details. Take a look at the co-op footage below:

Dead Space 3 will be released in February 2013 for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Now this is cool. Looks like it keeps the creep look nice, Don’t get how Repair man Isaac is now a side by side with a solider. cover and rolling ugh not to sure about that. overall looks like it could be really fun and maybe scary.

    Is this Split screen coop?

The horror is basically out the window, but I am liking the back and forth between Isaac and Carver. The brief splash of cover-based shooting against humans does worry me, but it seemed kind of like a piss-take with how quickly the giant Necromorph got involved.

  • TEN TIMES YES! Isaac and Ellie are back!!

    So excited!

  • Anyone know the name of the planet Dead Space 3 takes place on?  I wanna make a “John Carver of ______” joke…

I don’t mind the co-op but being punished by not using it is incredibly lame. Still, I guess it all depends on what kind of story details they’re talking about. It’d probbably be fine if it’s just fluff relating to John’s background or somesuch. I’m also not sure about the whole fighting soldiers thing, but I suppose it was inevitable given the way the series was going. As long as the focus remains on the Necromorphs.

    Also, delicious vore. Mmmm.

  • Not too happy about the co-op benefit but I love Dead Space series and hope for the best.
