Heavy Rain developer Quantic Dreams’ next game is Beyond: Two Souls. Sony displayed a trailer of the game at their E3 media briefing this evening. Take a look at it below:

That was pretty suspenseful and tense. It looked so real at times and actually some supernatural elements. Really stunned by it. Day 1.

  • MrRobbyM

I’m glad they started out with a bang because so far everything is meh.

  • Rohan Viajar

    umm.. is it just me?
or is that the voice of ellen page?
the character even looks like her when with the hair.

I guess ellen page character models are getting popular (hinting to the game ” The last of us” and of course this one :P)

    • Roubjon

That is Ellen Page and Ellen Page does the voice.

      • Zetsomaru

I am so glad this is true.
I thought I was going crazy for a second there. Like with Last of Us, the girl in that was suspiciously reminiscent of Ellen Page for some reason. But THIS time. This time it was actually her.

She’s adorable. Even as a possibly psycho, super-powered killing machine.

  • Nicolas Vasquez
    • Yeah! I remember that. It was a weird video.

  • ShindoW

    Can’t wait.

  • Oh man, now I think I found my first game to follow of E3.  I really liked Heavy Rain – it blended what I liked about visual novels with good graphics and an intense story.  Can’t wait to hear more!

  • PizzicatoSpirit

Wow, that was cool.  The facial expressions were good too.  I can’t wait to hear more about this.

  • This game looks very promising. I cannot wait to see more about this game, especially since they’re actually using Ellen Page as the lead character (my favorite actress). That and I want to see what the game actually plays like, after all that montage at the end hints at some very explosive gameplay.

  • KingGunblader

So I guess I’m not the only one that found it funny that everyone thought Ellen Page was in Last of Us, only to actually be in a completely different (PS exclusive) game. :P

But seriously, so far I would nominate either this or Watch Dogs for GOTS. Although that Last of Us footage was pretty sexy too…

    • Guest

       She was in it (indirectly).

I mean….I find it funny how all of a sudden ND just ups and changes her look just right before this game reveal..

    • Juuu

Goodness me, you say it like it’s a bad thing! Ellen Page can be in ALL my games for all I care, hahaha! ;p

But seriously, I hope Quantic Dream gets it “right” this time for lack of a better word. Heavy Rain and Indigo Prophecy both were REALLY interesting titles that did REALLY interesting things, but were marred by issues right at the end. Hopefully, QD has listened to their fanbase and will take their feelings into consideration when crafting Beyond, particularly the ending, right? ;p

  • Press X to ELLEN PAGE

  • Speedo Redempteur

    damn quantic … i already have nomad soul , indigo , heavy rain ….and i can’t resist … Beyond look great …

  • Holy crap that looks good.

  • TheCynicalReaper

Look at that! Maybe we can have a story that’s not full of plotholes and makes some sense?

Seriously, Quantic is great with presentation, but always fails on the delivery. For making games that focus on story, you’d think Quantic would would spend more time on the story and less time on the damn graphics.

…The part where she jumps off the train into an energy field looks cool, though.

  • Shadowman

    That looks to real. O__O

  • shadowseer

When this footage showed up, all I could think was “I want it, and I want it now. Take my money”. The footage was… Beyond amazing. (Sorry), really looking forward to playing this game.

  • Aoshi00

What’s w/ the sudden popularity of Ellen Page, and as others said this is actually her, wow.. really liked Indigo Prophecy and Heavy Rain from Quantic Dream.. guess they are going back to the more supernatural setting while Heavy Rain was more of a realistic detective drama.. reminds me a bit of Alan Wake too.. the raining scene looks cool.

  • Ethan Russell

    this looks epic

  • Sperium3000

Will this be like Heavy Rain? If the plot is at least handled better because I’m still pissed at Heavy Rain’s twist.

  • amagidyne

Good job on this one. I didn’t like Fahrenheit very much after the first few hours (wherein the ENTIRE PLOT EATS ITSELF) and from what I understand Heavy Rain has many of the same problems. This, however, has me kind of excited.

I actually don’t think I’ll mind if the plot collapses into itself and it all turns into Simon Says as long as I get to play Ellen Page.

  • Guest

Thats the best facial graphics I’ve seen yet for a console game

  • joe ling

When this and last of us come out, i’m renaming my ps3 to pagestaion 3.

  • What will it take to make David Cage realize that he isn’t an unappreciated artistic genius? For the future of video games and for the sake of truth and juatice, this man needs to be humbled, and his millions of dollars in funding need to be revoked.

    • Nemesis_Dawn

I can respect your opinion, provided you also tell me your opinion of Asura’s Wrath.

      • Haven’t played it, barely seen it. Can’t say.

      • Göran Isacson

Just to keep things tongue-in-cheek: it’s like David Cages “games” except the plot makes more sense since they tell us straight up that the story is set in a world where ancient gods do magnificent kung-fu battle among the stars.

Although I will give David Cage this: his games didn’t shill the true ending as DLC. (and yes I know it may be the case that they waited and saw if the game sold enough to get an actual sequel, but still- true ending as DLC felt less than good, man).

    • I’m not so sure about that. Within the gaming industry, I feel like he might be one of the closest people we’ve got to that. He isn’t perfect, but he definitely tries something new with the gaming medium. And I’d have to say, I really enjoy his games and his style.

Anyway, I get your point though. He does tend to forget that these are games and not movies. (Although he does call them “interactive dramas”.) And even then, it feels like the plots aren’t thoroughly planned out.

  • Nemesis_Dawn

Can’t wait for this. Loved Heavy Rain.

  • Scallion

Hey, QD: I liked Twin Peaks, too, but I didn’t try to make a pretentious video game out of it.
    Come on, guys.

  • Incredible visual quality. Can’t wait to hear more of this game.

  • Darkchao45

Looks pretty sweet. Glad to see someone exploiting the PS3’s hardware to its max.

  • Göran Isacson

NOt sure what to think here. It’s David Cage and those games usually sell on a story that promises great highs and then… let’s just say, doesn’t quite deliver. BUT hey, more explosions and powers this time. Maybe he’s “dumbing down” and making something simpler this time that won’t go balls-off the rails.

  • ………Can someone explain WTH just happened?
