Playing Dead Space 3 In Co-Op Shows You Extra Story Details

By Ishaan . June 4, 2012 . 1:19pm

Electronic Arts officially showed off footage from Dead Space 3 for the first time today at their E3 press conference. The game confirmed drop-in, drop-out co-op with Isaac and a new character, Earthgov Sergeant John Carver.

As Siliconera reported last year, Dead Space 3 begins with Isaac crashing onto the planet of Tau Volantis, which Isaac discovers might hold the key to ending the Necromorph invasion. While you can play Dead Space 3 by yourself, playing cooperatively with a friend will allow you to see experience story details during the game.

Dead Space 3 will be available sometime in February 2013 for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. We’ll have more information as we get our hands on it.

Looks interesting. I guess the most important, and most welcomed fact is that’s it’s optional :3

  • Gears of Dead Space.

I guess this is the RE5 moment for the series, where it switches from actually having atmosphere to being a dudebro shootfest.

Edit – also: Punished for not playing co-op?
    Sigh. The future of gaming.

I love the Dead Space series but I cant say I’m pleased with the direction it’s going.

      >Gears of Dead Space

Yeah I honestly can’t take you serious.

If it’s one console split-screen co-op that’s awesome. There’s too many that don’t offer such these days.
Though I agree with Neal Power, I dont like the fact that you benefit from playing co-op. I hope they stilll keep the creepy aspect *fingers crossed*

    oh please allow for split-screen co-op T_T

  • Wow this did feel like they actually “force” us to do co-op. Well, at least they did not entirely force us to.
