Ubisoft Preparing Eight Titles For Wii U “Launch Window”

By Ishaan . June 4, 2012 . 4:02pm

Ubisoft announced eight titles that they will release for the Wii U’s launch window at E3 this week. On the core games front, they’ll be releasing Assassin’s Creed 3 and a new title entirely, ZombiU, developed by Ubisoft Montpellier, for the system.

On the more expanded audience front, Just Dance 4 will lead the lineup sometime this holiday. Just Dance 4 will be released for both Wii and Wii U. Meanwhile, Your Shape Fitness Evolved 2013 will be their first Wii U fitness game, and Sports Connection will be Ubisoft’s first sports title on the platform.

Rounding out the list will be Rayman Legends—which was confirmed last month—Rabbids Land, and Avengers: Battle For Earth.

Oh Ubisoft. You so crazy. There’s ALREADY shovelware fitness games nobody will use after a week.

So Assassin’s Creed 3 (which is a played out series now), and a bunch of shovelware. Ubisoft needs to step it up.

       They have Rayman Legends.

touché…Just got done with the Sony conference now and I find it incredibly sad that Ubisoft’s was the strongest one of the day, and that’s not saying much for Ubisoft either.

I agree I wish Watch Dogs was coming to WiiU but I feel the lineup is fine since as you can tell by my last comment I like Rayman Games.

ZombiU’s trailer reminded me of Dead Island, which is a great 4 player co-op game, I’m hoping ZombiU will be similar.Rayman Legends looks good, but I’m not a big fan of Rayman in general so I’m not interested in getting it.

Assassin’s Creed 3 as long as they have some sort of recap of the previous games then I wouldn’t mind buying it, if not for the sake of just getting what seems to be a quality game along with the games I am actually looking forward to.

As it turns out, ZombieU isn’t entirely new, but rather a retooling of Killer Freaks From Outer Space which was announced last year.

Honestly, I would’ve preferred they kept it about aliens, the market has become too oversaturated with zombie games.

Best conference hands down (until now at least).

    Kudos to Ubisoft.

    A zombie shooter? *sigh*

I’ll check out ZombiU. The rest? No.

    • Speedo Redempteur

      not even creed 3 ?

      • Solomon_Kano

Oh, I’ll definitely check that out. On PS3.

8 Ubisoft games at launch? How surprising, I really didn’t expect that from them, it is so unusual coming from such a big corporation…

Joking aside, even if most titles here will quickly drop from people’s radar, they are necessary because they support the platform at its very early lifetime, and sometimes, it makes a decisive difference for the next months and years. I can’t remember where I read that, but it is the same for yearly sports titles that seem uninteresting but drive plenty of support for the consoles, and this can encourage niche projects.
