I’m seeing a lot more influence from Super Mario World, which is a big plus for me.

I like the idea of carrying around the Baby Yoshi, which I presume will grow into an adult Yoshi once you feed it enough.

Also, the backgrounds themselves look greatly improved over the original New Super Mario Brothers Wii.

This is another missed opportunity they didn’t even try to add new characters like peach or wario nope.  Just the same 2 toads unless I missed some announcements.

Really don’t care about the playable characters since I’ll be stuck as Mario in single player.

What we need to be concerned about are the bosses, please Nintendo give us new bosses like with NSMB on the DS!

Wario only appeared in two main games and how can peach be a playable character when shes being rescued? what would be the plot be then Mario goes to beat up bowser and risk his life for no reason.

Considering there’s more Super Mario World influences (like Baby Yoshis, Flying Squirrel Mario looks very similar to Cape Mario), hopefully this’ll stick out more in the whole “New SMB” series.

This a 2d game?  Love the 2d games, but hope to see more 3d 64/Galaxy style ones too.

Interesting idea with the 5th player placing blocks, but I have a feeling that’ll be about as much fun as the 2nd player option in Galaxy.
