Fire Emblem: Awakening Is Coming To North America

By Ishaan . June 6, 2012 . 8:47pm

Fire Emblem: Awakening for the Nintendo 3DS was confirmed for European release earlier this year. Today, Nintendo of America confirmed it for a U.S. release, too. NOA’s Twitter feed posted this evening:

We are excited to confirm a NEW game announcement coming to the US: the new 3DS Fire Emblem! More info to come.

We’ll keep an eye out for more news.

Read more stories about & & on Siliconera.

  • Xapth

    My body is ready

    • Jugiatsu

My body has been beyond ready since this game was first announced.  Bring on the news NoA!

  • DanteJones

Bada bing! Guess it must have just slipped someone’s mind at the conference, haha.

    • Herok ♞

They probably didn’t have footage to show or the game is releasing in 13 since they showed 2012 only games today.

  • Justin Graham

Thank Christ. I was worried when it wasn’t announce at any of their conferences. But the hilarious way that it was announced (Reggie slips word to reporters post conference, Twitter explosion, followed by NOA Twitter confirmation) makes up for it.

    • I know, that was freaking hilarious!

      • Jugiatsu

Quite frankly, NoA owed everyone at E3 at least that much.  The consumers didn’t want to see more of the SAME software they showed on the 3DS during their conference they wanted to see NEW unannounced software.

Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing, New Layton, Project X Zone, etc.  Even if they aren’t coming out this year it doesnt matter.  Just an announcement of them would have made the fans and consumers leaving the conference with a lot more positive feeling from NoA rather than a negative one.

        • I think NOA just wanted to control their E3 message and focus on this year’s stuff, but yeah, even I wished they had a sort of, “Oh, and more thing…” at the end of their 3DS conference. SRPGs aren’t for me, so I won’t be rejoicing along with the rest of you folks, but I’m very happy for everyone that was looking forward to playing FE!

          • I’ll definitely try it. The way the game is streamlined for new/casual crowds gives me a rather pleasant feeling similar to when I played 7th Dragon 2020.
            Oh wait, I don’t own a 3DS… OTL

    • MrRobbyM

      I’ll admit I lol’d as well.

  • James Beatty

All is forgiven…this would have been something to show off at the press conference though…

    • XYZ_JolteonZ980

What would they have shown? Im imagining they really have no english materials of the title yet ready or that the game is releasing after Luigi’s Manions, NSMB2, and Paper Mario…unless people wanted them to flash an FE logo on the screen and call it a day.

Oh well nice to have something that wasnt previously announced announced, a nice end of big three onslaught of surprises.

      • kylehyde

“unless people wanted them to flash an FE logo on the screen and call it a day.”
Well actually they have announced many games on that way, in example, GTA: chinatown wars announced with a single logo during the 2008 E3 and the first images came months later, or Zelda Skyward Sword, which was teased with a concept art and the firts trailer came a year later.

        • XYZ_JolteonZ980

Well as of late those are the type of announcements that people hate and dislike, when a logo is flashed and things are done. I think only Sony did that this year with COD, while everyone else avoided it.

  • Jason A someone had to post it.

  • Ben Sylvia

There is a god. /manlytears TuT

Long live the house that Mario built, may it forever prosper.
Nintendo wins this year, solely for this.  Everything else they had I liked is just a bonus.

  • riceisnice

But is it gonna be released this year?

    • James Beatty

No, that’s why it wasn’t shown off in the press conference.

      • XYZ_JolteonZ980

Hm? They havent released a date yet, it could very well end up being Holiday.

        • All the other Holiday Season games were announced though. Also, it’s not in the 3DS release list for 2012 which can be found on their E3 press-only site. Aaalso, I don’t think that even the European release has a date set yet.

          • XYZ_JolteonZ980

Why would the game be on the 3DS release list BEFORE it was (officially) announced? That list was released before Reggie announced it and was also a “partial” list.

      • MrRobbyM

How can you be so sure about that? The game is already done.

        • James Beatty

translations usually take a while, especially from japanese devs (I waited about 6 months to see KH BBS). No confirmation, just speculation on my part. But seeing as this year is pretty full with 3DS game i would imagine it’s coming out next year

        • What James Beatty said is completely and wholeheartedly correct. Look at the Trails in the Sky on the PSP. That game came out in in Japan in 2006. No one bothered to try and release it- and when XSEED got their hands on it, the translation and editing /alone/ took a whopping year and a half for a game of that size.

The game had been done for years already.

Localization is more than just bringing the game over, it includes the translation and editing and not to mention a ton of legalities and red tape, then working on stuff for ESRB and PEGI (if it’s a European release), and if it’s going to be in Quebec, making materials in French as well as in English…

It’s a pretty wild situation and a LOT of work still needs to be done on it.

          • MrRobbyM

I know all that, I’m just playing devil’s advocate. Localization could have started a while ago for all that we know.

  • キロ

Alas, an after-show tweet, such is the popularity abroad neh? XD

  • Nathan_GreeneIV

I…..Am so happy Im alive right now….
    *Epic tear drop.*

  • If that 3DS bundle is making it over too, I’m buying it right away. RIGHT AWAY. I’ll pitch my tents at midnight, even if there is no line up.

  • Barrylocke89

It’s so funny. All Nintendo had to do was say right at the end of their conference was “Oh btw, new Fire Emblem on the 3DS is coming soon. Look out for it!” and a lot of the initial complaints would have been quelled. (Personally I was glad to see more stuff on Cv and Paper Mario but I was wondering where the Fire Emblem announcement was).

    Anywho. Body. Ready.

    • raitouniverse

Pretty much. Which is why I don’t get why they’re being so god damn stingy.

  • Opn

    *me before announcment*
    > nitendo….you disappoint me ;_;
    *me after nitendo announces it*
also btw watching twitter explode with the news was hilarious lol.

    • AuraGuyChris

Huh, weird. I said ALL OF MY MONEY when it revealed that Pikmin 3, Paper Mario, and Luigi’s Mansion 2 (along with all the other games) were coming very, very soon… WHERE WERE YOU?

      • Opn

i have no real interest in getting the wii U so pimin 3 is a no. for paper mario eeeeh it looked fine maybe. luigis mansion though im getting :).

      • RmanX1000

“revealed” is a strong word. I would say, “reassured its in development.”

  • MrRobbyM

Nintendo: HERE’S A WHOLE BUNCH OF GAMES YOU ALREADY KNEW WERE COMING! Oh…btw, here’s some RPG you don’t care about, bye.

    Consumer base: FINALLY! SOMETHING NEW!

I really hate NoA sometimes. Not to sound unappreciative, but the way this was handled bothers me.

    • Anime10121

Yeah NOA has proven time and time again that they dont see JRPGs as a worthy investment (even when its their own titles).  I despise NOA’s publishing arm with a passion.

NOA, there are people who DONT want just Mario, DK, Zelda, and the rest of your similar every game First party titles shoved down their throats repeatedly forever (I know its hypocritical of me but I’m not including Kirby cuz I freking love that pink puff ball).

      • AJ

Which is a bit sad. Every RPG with “Nintendo” on the box that I have played has been amazing. “Magical Starsign” is among my favorite games ever (and despite the aesthetic and “E” rating, really, really disturbing).

Ah well. Nintendo has been pushing Dragon Quest in North America pretty hard. If no one is buying, what are they supposed to take away from that?

…..I still see copies of “Glory of Heracles” sitting around everywhere, too, unbought and unplayed.

        • boundries_san

Even though i really love Glory of Heracles and it clearly also need more loves just like Solatorobo there.T_T

          • AJ

            Solatorobo definitely needs more love.

(Though the ‘furry’ aesthetic probably puts a lot of people off. I nearly gave it a miss myself. Because that’s bloody creepy.)

          • boundries_san

But Sonic is also all about furry lol.^^

        • Anime10121

But Dragon Quest has never been a “big” property in NA, and while I find them ok, I can understand why.  They look to much like Dragonball (cant stand Toriyama’s art), the game’s never really evolve much, and the plots in the games are as basic as basic can be.

But even saying that, the games have sold fairly well for games that only need to be localized and I’m sure they made a profit on each one.  Its just another one of those cases where if a publisher doesnt make a certain amount of profit, they dont think its worth it.

Its sad but the only ventures Nintendo seems interested in are their guaranteed million sellers or games that take little to no effort to translate (Mario, Kirby, DK, Wii-anything, Nintendogs, etc.).

  • Yes. So excited. :D Nintendo just made me so happy.

  • kylehyde

the first thing that crossed my mind when I read that Tweet about FE: awakening coming to America was this.

Seriously NOA, you only needed to say “Fire Emblem Awakening is coming”,
no trailer or logo was necessary, and you would make happy to many
people. Anyway, is coming and my body is more than ready.

  • RmanX1000

The only real news from their conference. Im sorry but New Super Mario Bros aint New anymore. And Nintendo Land? The f**k?

EDIT: Sorry, i forgot, this wasnt even part of the conference <___<

    • James Beatty

New super mario bros is part of the new super mario bros series since they stopped doing them when they entered the 3D space and the game looks pretty outstanding from what i have seen (at least the Wii U one) Nintendo land looks fun, i have heard nothing but praise for it so far and it will probably be a pack in

    • Ben Sylvia

Speak for yourself, Nintendo Land looks kinda fun.
      Unlike Wii Sports.
Although I did like Sword Fighting and Island Fly Over in Sports Resort.

And they’re bring Reznors back in NSMB2, which is awesome.

    • boundries_san

Nintendoland does look fun though and if Nintendo is really able to maximize them, who knows they will be able to add more attraction in the future?

Pokemon minigame? Fire Emblem minigame? Unlimited possibilities there lol.^^

  • I just woke up and this made my day.

  • Farid Belkacemi

Guys, time to celebrate ! :)

  • scratchbach

    Commencing rejoicing.

  • Jungo
  • Was there ever any doubt?

    • Darkrise

    • puchinri

Suprisingly, yea. But not from me~.

    • cj_iwakura

Regarding Nintendo ‘we have no plans of localizing Wii RPGs even though the console has no games lined up’ USA? Yes.

  • SetzerGabbiani

Called it.  It’s all a numbers game.

  • “Rejoice” indeed!!! XD

I’m so excited now! I was not going to be a happy camper if it didn’t happen.

  • TheBlackKnight3

Yay! Reggie did it for us, guys! All hail Reggie! May his body always be ready.

    • All abroad the Nintendo Hype Train! Chugga chugga woo woo b****es!

      • TheBlackKnight3

This one’s rolling of the tracks! Watch out, here comes the hype train! Get on or get run over!

      • boundries_san

        I love being a puppet master.^^

  • KotaroInugami

I don’t want an announcement, I’m pretty sure we all knew it was coming. I want a release date!

    • raymk

Thank you that’s more like it people thinking straight.

    • puchinri

Well, some of us are forever doubtful. Which is fine. But they definitely need more hope in their lives. x’D

      But yes, the release date. Naoplz. But I can be patient too. ;u;

  • Sperium3000

Can you say “First Day Buy”!? 8D

  • Darkrise

If only I saw this in the morning; I would scream in joy! But no, no tears! Not until I have a copy in my hands! ( ̄ー ̄)

  • kelsniff

I was about to cut a bitch if this wasnt coming out

    • Do not use such language on this site. Consider this a warning.

    • cj_iwakura

      Best read in character.

  • Phlo

A wonderful announcement, but what a horrible execution.

  • elsalvadorps

There no excuse for me now not to get a 3DS

    • raymk

Yes there is, you may not like the colors of the 3DS >_>.

      • cj_iwakura

There’s a purple one. Argument invalid.

  • yes eyes yesyesys yesysey seysysey seyseyesy seys yse yesy syseyseyse …… if you cant tell im very happy

  • zeta

I wet my pants from this…

  • Repede91

Why in the world would they not mention this at their 3DS event?

    • Anime10121

Because they’re idiots.  Its the same reason they didnt announce that new Platinum Games title at their E3 press conference.

Nintendo: “Why show new and unique software that will get people excited about our hardware, when we can show people games they already knew were coming”

NOA is full of Freking Retards

God how I wanted to be excited by Nintendo’s E3 showing and Nintendo completely failed my expectations. Hopefully they actually show up a TGS this year, because they need to come BIG, with WiiU’s release right around the corner less they want to end up like the 3DS launch.

  • Hours

Thank goodness. Even if it was a slip up by Reggie, this single piece of news has saved E³ for me.

  • Carocaro4

yeah and I’m guessing it’s going to come out some time next fall!!

  • Draparde

another game for me to buy for sure.

  •  Basically my reaction when I heard the announcement earlier.–300×300.jpg

  • Shadowman

SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!!! Come on wallet hang through this!

  • Sardorim

Gonna be awkward when Krom finds out you’re dateing his daughter from the future.

    • XiaomuArisu

       You mean awesomeXD
BTW be carefull that counts as spoiler.

  • Very super awesomely excited for this game (and even that doesn’t describe my reaction to this news adequately enough). Fire Emblem truly got me to enjoy strategy RPGs and made them my favorite genre. So this is an immediate buy upon release. Kudos Nintendo for actually bringing it over here. Not so much kudos for not revealing this during your 3DS press conference. Very bad form there.

  • fuzzy_hobo

    Life is good.

  • ZEROthefirst

Had a shitty day today, then I came home to this and all was good again :D

  • Just hope they don’t censor the marriage part, especially with Nono.

    • Suicunesol

They will. In Sacred Stones, Ephraim and Eirik’s incestuous undertones were removed. Then there was Ike and Soren. Then there’s those suggestive remarks from Palutena in Kid Icarus.

They’re not going to let underage marriages go. I wouldn’t be surprised if they removed her as a choice for marriage.

      • To be fair though, Ike and Soren was still about as subtle as a brick to the face from my point of view, I don’t think I had my shipping goggles on at all throughout that game. :

        • cj_iwakura

          I’m an Ike/Elincia advocate, myself.

          • XiaomuArisu

             IKExLETHE for life!
Im waiting for IKE part3 to make that pairing happen!

      • Oltheros

Is that so? In Sacred Stones, I think the subtext was still there.

Anyways, I really can’t stand censorship but I do feel like some is inevitable given it’s NOA

        • Suicunesol

Actually, I didn’t know about it until I read about it later. Then it made sense.

      • puchinri

Ike and Soren was kind of in your face to me. . . my boyfriend caught on too.

I’m going to be hopeful, but not expect anything.

      • Hraesvelgr

Don’t know about Kid Icarus, but there’s not really any incestuous undertones in SS in the first place, and Ike and Soren were still… really “close”, so I don’t really get what you’re saying there.

      • Ty Arnold

The rumor about Ephraim and Eirika getting married in the Japanese version’s ending was just that; a rumor.

There was plenty of incestuous subtext, I’ll grant, but it certainly wasn’t censored here. Honestly, it probably stood out more in the American version, if anything: some bits of dialogue between them that sounded normal in Japan sounded incriminating in America.

      • XiaomuArisu

The first thing we learn about Nono is she is old, really old.And please dont use the she acts like a child argument,I dont want to start a warXD
BTW Remember Nino?Little magic girl could marry a adult assassin.Got two kids.Still in the US/EU game.
BTW2 I live in Europe and Europe censor violence not sex(or in this case marriage)so….yayXD

        • KHSoraKeyBlade

We censor violence? I have never knew that. :O

          • XiaomuArisu

Well not completly just the very gruesome parts.
            Well in Germany atleastXD
Dragonball GT was cutted drastic in germany. But the VAs are great.
In Portugal it was uncut. But the VAs sucks.

          • KHSoraKeyBlade

A friend of mine told me they have strict rules for games over there in Germany that must suck for some people there. But I guess they’ll live xD
I never watched Dragonball GT in Japanese to notice any differences from the English version but I definitely remember them cutting out a bunch of stuff from Dragonball and Z. Oh well xD

        • Levin_Scorpius

Nino was 14 years old, Jaffar was approximately 17 years old, and they both act rather appropriate for their ages and back stories. So using that to justify the romance/marriage thing with Nono, a ‘supposedly’ several hundred year old dragon girl who acts and looks like a 5 year old, doesn’t work at all. Technical age means absolutely nothing if the character in question just doesn’t match up to it.

If any European countries have any pedophilia laws whatsoever (and I’m sure they do), then Nintendo will most definitely completely either remove Nono or change her into a much more mature character.

          • XiaomuArisu

             Removing her?nope
Changing the personality? At least keep it entertaining.
or they gonna say “She is actually mature she just likes to act childish”or”the unit which wish to marry her will wait till she is mature enough”
Or pair your unit with a woman which actually has a adult body like Tiamo or if you have a dragon fetish pair him with the other dragongirl which looks adult…
            so much possibilitys…

          • Levin_Scorpius

By ‘removing’ her I intended to mean that she would removed from being marriageable and that Nn/ n_n/ Giberisha/ ect. would become someone else’s daughter (probably Tiki). She would still be in the game

Nono’s problem is that she is essentially a little girl with a technical older age. In order to change her so that Nintendo doesn’t get into problems/lawsuits/ect. and so that she is still romanceable, the very least they would have to do is give her an older body OR make her a midget that is still noticeably an adult and maybe use the mature by likes to act childish thing to actually get the game itself through the localization process and the law.

  • Suicunesol

    At. Last.

I just wish they could’ve given it more fanfare.

But maybe they wanted to test the waters. You know, to see how far the tweet would travel.

  • Oh lord, finally ;-; !! But seriously, 3 conferences (or 4?) and we just got informed about it on twitter :/

    • Reggie revealed it by accident.

He actually didn’t realize that he wasn’t supposed to until it was too late.

      • boundries_san

That is why his body is not ready lol.^^

  • kroufonz

  • boundries_san

Reggie, when i see the presentation without this game news, my body is not ready.T_T

But the moment i see this news……. MY BODY IS READY!!!! And i Love Fire Emblem.^^^^^

  • Rejoice indeed :D

  • raymk

Expected but i’m glad they did tell people its coming out because it was getting kinda annoying at people worrying about it.  I mean seriously most knew the game was coming and most of us were really just hoping for an release date.

    • Mago Iichi

Oh please, most people knew nothing, if Nintendo of America didn’t want to release it here, they wouldn’t.

  • Arrei

So happy now… nothing could ruin thi-

Wait, I still have finals to study for. Crap.

    Nope, still happy.

  • This was inevitable. Looks like everybody now wins with this announcement. Rejoice indeed!

  • z_merquise

We shall all give ourselves a high-five in unison.

This is one of the announcement I’m waiting for E3. Really happy it’s finally confirmed.

This Fire Emblem and Castlevania: Mirror of Fate are the games I’m looking forward now for the 3DS.

    • boundries_san

Ehhh?? U don’t want Mickey: Castle of Illusion? T_T

      • It doesn’t look like a 3DS game. :/

        • boundries_san

          ??? It is a 3DS game though lol.^^

          • I know, I know. xD I remember getting a little device from Disney Land that had what I assume was the original Illusion. I enjoyed it. I lost it though. Oh well.

  • TheSquishyTanker

Haven’t actually played a Fire Emblem game, this will be my first. It looks really good, too.

  • Kefkiroth

I have never played a FE game, but there’s a lot of hype for this game, so I wonder: does this require any knowledge of previous FE games or is this a standalone title?

    • Suicunesol

This Fire Emblem game is a standalone title, but if you play the previous entries, you may appreciate the character of “Marth” as well as other DLC characters more.

  • I’m still angry that they didn’t bring it up during their DLC and digital download related section of their presentation. That would’ve helped it a lot, instead they talked about really, really boring things like 3Diots.

Just makes me feel like NoA has absolutely no faith in any RPG selling here, outside of a Mario spinoff. And as much as I want to hear more about Paper Mario: Sticker Star (stupid name, but whatever), I’d like to see them at least try to build up hype for a game that has been getting a lot of great praise over in Japan.

Hopefully the whole twitter thing is just because the release date will be much later on, and they felt it was not worth bringing up so early in the year. Because if otherwise, it just makes me feel like we’ll be dealing with the current RPG-hating NoA for a while longer.

I really hope they don’t do this to the WiiU. . .

  • XiaomuArisu

Now everyone can enjoy this beautiful game!
    I forgot to buy a 3ds!
Maybe the EU will get a bundleXD

  • Rock Volnutt

  • OH MAN I MISSED THE ANNOUNCEMENT FOR EUROPE!! Thank God! I was thinking I’d need to get a US 3DS or something haha.

    • KHSoraKeyBlade

I think it was announced back in February or March that it was coming to Europe, they said it was coming this year as well so the wait shouldn’t be too long.
      Unless the game gets delayed….

  • isfuturebright

Why no announcement at E3?! I Don’t care gimme FE!

  • Vampiric

Its probably an early 2013 game which is why there was no announcement

    • KHSoraKeyBlade

It was confirmed for 2012 in Europe so, I wouldn’t jump to conclusions yet about a 2013 release in US.
Unless, we get it before America…. Which I dunno, we might? Who knows.

      • Shadow Dragon came out in EU before NA, so it’s not unprecedented.

        • KHSoraKeyBlade

Oh yeah I forgot about Shadow Dragon, I picked it up at a later date so I couldn’t remember when it was released. But yeah I guess anything is possible. Plus, Nintendo have had this thing where they release games in EU a few days before NA which I still don’t get but hey I ain’t complaining xD

  • keithmaxx

Let the torture of permadeath on Western consoles begin! (And no cheating, we’ll know if you played on Easy! >.<)

    • XiaomuArisu

As far as I know you can choose classic mode and casual mode aka permadeath or no permadeath.

    • boundries_san

      RNG Torture to the MAX!!!

  • Tom_Phoenix

Not even remotely suprised by this. Nintendo was already localising the game for Europe, so an announcement for North America was a logical followup.

    • Yes, just like The Last Story, Pandora’s Tower, Solatorobo, Project Zero 2 remake, Inazuma Eleven, Inazuma Eleven 2…………..

      • boundries_san

Umm Solatorobo, and Inazuma Eleven 1 did come here though.^^

        • Not through Ninty though.

      • Tom_Phoenix

The Last Story is coming over and Solatorobo already has. Furthermore, just beacuse NA release of Pandora’s Tower and Project Zero 2 remake hasn’t been announced yet doesn’t mean that they won’t be released. Both projects are still quite new, so a NA release could still happen.

As for Inazuma Eleven…well, it’s a football/soccer game. Considering football/soccer doesn’t have much of an audience in North America (minus Mexico), Nintendo can be forgiven for thinking that there probably isn’t much point in releasing the games in that region.

    • SirRichard

It was the logical follow-up, but let’s be honest; NOA haven’t been particularly logical as of late, have they?

  • Hmm…frm the comments I assume its okay to not hv prior knowledge of the game?

*ahem*Rejoice you haters and fans. (In Kirei voice)

    • XiaomuArisu

This game plays in the  world of marth but many years after his adventures(400?)There are some little gags based on the marth games(So I heard)but you dont need to played the others to understand this.

  • This with 3ds or Vita with Gravity Rush…? Need to pick one of them…. I’m in predicament!!

    • EtherealEarth

Does any one of your close friends have either PSVita or 3DS?

Because I suggest you buy the one your close friend(s) doesn’t have, and then kindly borrow his/her console when the game comes out, so it’s win-win situation.

      There, problem solved  – -+

      • Tylor Boreas Makimoto

No, that is wrong. Don’t recommend thievery just so he can play a game.

        • EtherealEarth

Ah my apologies, i only meant it figuratively.

But I fixed it, to make things clearer :)

    • That is tough…dang…

    • usagi_san

Gravity Rush has a confirmed date (being released next week) but requires a memory card. FE: Awakening has just be confirmed but no release date. I’d go for the Vita, in my opinion, if you have sufficient funds.

    • Suicunesol

I’d say 3DS, but usagi-san might be right. If there’s nothing else on the 3DS of interest for you at this time, and if you’ll pick up both handhelds eventually, choose Vita.

  • SirRichard

New Super Mario Bros, Castlevania, Luigi’s Mansion, Paper Mario and Fire Emblem. Nintendo certainly turned that drought right around, eh?

  • Awesome! Congrats us-bros :) Now everyone can enjoy this game worldwide!

    • boundries_san

Ur body is ready for more RNG torture right.^^

  • Now Bravely Default, and the deal is sealed.

  • Firion_WR

    My body was not ready
    …slowly dying
    so happy

  • mikedo2007

All Right, looks like Fire Emblem fans will be happy to get to play this game.

  • Sonny Reyes

    *does Daniel Bryan’s pose* YES!!!

I was upset when the sequel of Shadow Dragon didn’t make it to the cut on U.S, but I’m loving it it finally coming. I swear, I saw the 3DS conference yesterday just to see the announcement of Fire Emblem, but I was like: “That it?! NO Fire Emblem?!!” when the conference was done.

Thanks Siliconera for giving me an wonderful news!~

  • Linhua

    … YES.

… now I can finally dust off my blue 3DS that ain’t even the blue I keep seeing all over the net… = =;; …

    •  My only gaff with this whole thing is me wondering if they will release the Cobalt Blue 3DS over here with the dragon on the top

  • Levin_Scorpius

The sad thing here is that Awakening’s original NA confirmation required someone to actually to go up to Reggie after the 3DS conference and ask him about. And then Nintendo decided they might as well give it a small little tweet announcing it afterwards.

My main problem here is that gamers and journalists want E3 to be the place where big, mind blowing announcements are made and people fall in love with their favorite companies and IPs all over again, and hype it up accordingly. But companies, this year especially, seem to be more focused on just showing the stuff that they have already announced and are currently working on.

I’m not saying that this bad, I understand that they want to give their investors and the like clear cut information on the stuff that’ll sell a million billion copies, so that they’ll not decide to quit and take their oodles of shiny cash elsewhere. But I still wish as an overly whiny and opinionated fan that they would have given me something to hype up over this year really (like even just a small cutscene-y Smash Bros the Fourth trailer sprinkled with a Solid Snakey surprise at the end or even some magical concept art of something).

All that said, I’m really overjoyed that Awakening is actually coming over. Especially since Shadow Dragon feels like it came out forever and a half ago. That and now I don’t have to replay Radiant Dawn for the millionth time to satisfy my +1 addiction.

    • What I hear is that the big 3 are tired of having to use money and time to present at E3 conferences, when there are more cost and time efficient ways of presenting to the gaming public thanks to the power of social media and things like Nintendo Direct and Vita Heaven, which is why E3 isn’t being used as the “megaton” announcement platform like it used to be.

    •  Exactly man

  • PizzicatoSpirit

When I saw the title, I literally smiled.

Now I will have a another 3DS game.

  • KingGunblader

I understand that Fire Emblem sales are going to be paltry compared to NSMB2, but Nintendo has to take at least some of the blame when they can’t even be bothered to mention it at the 3DS SOFTWARE SHOWCASE.

Did anyone else notice that they didn’t show The Last Story at all, either? I know Xseed is publishing, but they don’t get a whole E3 conference to show games. Considering it’s one of the ONLY games coming out for the Wii until Wii U, I expected to see a trailer or SOMETHING. The game’s supposed to be coming out this summer and yet not a peep about release date – from Nintendo or Xseed, for that matter.

    •  They cant mention something without a logo, hence why you saw  Pokemon BW2 at E3 instead of Fire Emblem

  • EvidenceLawl

Life is good. I didn’t know whether or not to believe the tweet yesterday by Jason Schreier… I think I’m gonna cry manly tears of joy. :’)

  • darkfox1

I wish they announced it DURING the conference yesterday it would have made it more hype. :D

  • Yay~ Time to use my non-existent money to buy a 3DS. This game was my only reason to buy a 3DS. :3

  • Jonathan Keycross

    Great news.

*Poker face explodes trying to contain the enthusiasm*

  • YoshEE

Yes! Been waiting for them to announce their release ^.^

    • AnimusVox

      Man you read my mind
That’s the main reason I’m holding off on getting a 3DS, I’m waiting for that.

      •  I got mine before it was released. I kinda regret it but I kinda dont since , I own so hard in Kid Icarus’s Multiplayer.

  • Joanna

So happy about this news~ I wasn’t on twitter last night so I didn’t see this. Thank you siliconera for relaying this happy news to me. I don’t care when the game comes out now, I’m just so happy I will be able to play it. :)

  • Time to fucking disappear from the internet forever. My life is complete :3

  • komiko12

Hehe. Such a short announcement caused this kind of reaction eh?
I guess people did “rejoice” for Fire Emblem. :D

  • Matthew Emirzian
