At their Nintendo 3DS software showcase this evening, Nintendo confirmed Nintendo eShop demos for a bunch of games in North America. Here’s the list:

The Amazing Spider-Man

Rhythm Thief and the Emperor’s Treasure (Already out in Europe)

Heroes of Ruin (out in Europe this week, U.S. later. Details here)

Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance

Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes (available now)

No Fire Emblem. Yea, nintendo officially sucks. But hey there’s some new Mario games. Something I’m sure no one was expecting.

    • Anesia Hunter

I was still in a bad mood about project diva and you just reminded me of fire emblem. where is fire emblem? ;-; I thought they were just going to save fire emblem’s announcement for E3, but it’s still so quiet.

    • Roubjon

A writer for Kotaku just tweeted: “Fire Emblem 3DS is coming to America, Reggie just told me.”

      • K G
        • Muffum

While multiple people tweeting it, instead of just one, gives it the slightest bit of credence, I’m going to remain doubtful of this announcement at best until it’s an official announcement from Nintendo.

          • Roubjon

I think a statement from the President of Nintendo of America is pretty good credence.

          • Muffum

But it’s not. It’s someone restating a statement from the president of NoA when we haven’t actually seen the statement itself.

          • Roubjon

I don’t think IGN and Kotaku would make this up.  Just a hunch.

          • K G

            Here’s the official announcement.

          • Muffum

Thanks for that; just saw it myself. This is honestly all I really wanted; the word directly from NoA, instead of a word from someone that says NoA said it.

          • Anesia Hunter

            O M G…! O_O Is this really real?

          • Jason A

heck ya!! SUPER happy atm. :D

      • Anesia Hunter

        this year?

  • That was terrible. They didn’t announce anything worthwhile I didn’t already know about. Where was Animal Crossing 3DS? So let down.

    • Animal Crossing is boring. And the only one I liked was the GameCube one because of the NES classics that you can work hard to get. Now, it’s just barren and empty… and a bit souless. But that was just me describing my later experience with the DS version, since I didn’t played the Wii version yet.

      • fishing, designing your town, collecting furniture and fossils, bug catching, holidays, etc. If you cheated and over played the gamecube one then you probably got bored of the last two reasonably fast especially if you werent playing with real life friends. but this one seems to add a lot to the game experience and perhaps it might be exactly what your looking for.

      • I personally enjoyed the DS version. If you’ve been watching any of the trailers for the 3DS version you would see they’re adding a lot of cool features to the game.

  • AlteisenX

So wait… while europe gets a fully fledged online demo experience, we get… lego batman…

I’m sorry, but that is just disgusting Nintendo. Seriously, no mention of release dates apart from NSMB2, which yes, it looks good, but saying Holiday 2012 and Fall 2012 for everything is not what I came to see. I KNEW these games were coming out BEFORE E3. This is your chance to show us something NEW.

Colour me disappointed. Whichever colour that may be.

  • LunarKnite

Disappointed in this showcase. It was an hour long for games Nintendo fans should all have known about already. Not to say it was bad, personally, I can see myself getting at least 4-5 of those games when they come out, however it wasn’t what Nintendo needed to really excite past the next few months.

  • Herok ♞

All I can say is at least Nintendo is trying with their handheld and care enough to give it its show unlike a certain company that wants to kill its handheld by showing off a book instead of its 25 new games.

    • Anime10121

I just hope Sony has more to show at TGS later this year for Vita because honestly its like they forgot about the system (or they really had nothing to show, which is the more likely scenario with them having a demo of Hatsune Miku on the showfloor which we all know isn’t coming).

  • Can’t wait to swing around in the Amazin-
… oh wait, that’s right. No free roam in the 3DS game. Never mind.

  • riceisnice

Didn’t they say they had new things to showcase? Well?!

    • Anime10121

They’ll probably announce new stuff on Twitter like they did Fire Emblem :(

  • Shadowman

I can’t wait for Kingdom Heart 3DS demo to release then it will be the full game.

  • darkfox1

Finally some good demos the only demo I really liked was Revelations all the other ones I don’t like.

  • Christopher Nunes

So… when are these demos coming out?

    • Anime10121

Yeah that would have been a nice thing to know wouldnt it? I just dont believe Nintendo wanted people to actually like their E3 showing this year.  I was expecting to be excited about WiiU and got nothing.  I was expecting my 3DS to get a lot of love and it got none save a few trailers of games we already knew about and the announcement (with no date) of demos that many already knew were coming.

      • Christopher Nunes

Is E3 over yet? Is it still going on? I mean, come on… isn’t E3 the time where the showcase EVERYTHING to excite people and they kinda… didn’t go with it?

        What up with that?

        • Anime10121

Nah its not over yet, but 95% of the time during any of the big shows: E3, Lipzieg, TGS, etc. the most important news/info is released the first two days during “press conferences”. This year none of the big 3 showed anything really “new” and exciting

Sony would’ve had a better showing had they not announced ALL of their stuff a couple months prior.  Microsoft yet again announced nothing but what people expected (and many were the same games they showed last year) Halo, Gears, COD.  Nintendo had the biggest chance to wow people with their showing, and yet they chose to only show games they announced last year and Nintendo Land.

I so hope TGS later this year makes up for this crap.

          • Christopher Nunes

True… I was kinda hoping to hear news about a Digimon World Re:Digitize localization, Black Rock Shooter: The Game, and possibly announced that plan to bring over a few PSP titles like 7th Dragon 2020, Sol Trigger, and Fate/Extra CCC.

Oh well, TGS would be great! Do you think we might get “new” info on FF13 Versus? I mean it’s got to be something for it if they plan to make KH3, as it was mention until FF13 Versus was done no development for KH3 will start.

          • Anime10121

I believe whole-heartedly that TGS will bring about the re-unveiling of vs. XIII and if not at TGS, they will at least announce a Square event where they will unveil it like they did at TGS 2010.  I believe that because by the time TGS hits the only games Square Japan has left is Vs. XIII, Bravely Default, and XIV 2.0.  Sure they’ll probably show Hitman and Tombraider but at a Japanese convention, people will want to see Square’s own internally developed properties and not Eidos developed titles with Square’s name slapped on em.

I mean honestly if they have nothing to show for it this year, I really will start to believe its been scrapped and that Square is completely incompetent when it comes to home consoles this gen.  Sad thing about KH is, that while I want 3 on this gen of consoles, its looking more and more likely that we’ll have to wait until next gen for it to come out (or itll be on WiiU since its similar to PS3/360).

  • DemonicX

Yeah, Nintendo really didn’t reveal much at at all. They didn’t exactly do too well at this E3. Then again, I personally think that E3 was once again a disappointment this year.

  • I never tried getting demo for 3DS as I don’t have WiFi connection in my area.
I can’t wait for KH3D (not demo), this game singlehandedly sold 3DS to me.

  • Kefkiroth

I hate the 30 plays crap we get on 3DS demos… Of course, 30 plays is more than enough, but it just kind of bugs me that there’s a limit at all. Like Nintendo is being overprotective. I wish I could play the KH3D demo until it came out.
Not like Sony suffers from unlimited demo plays on the Vita.

    *melts in a bubbly mess*

  • Yikes, the framerate in the Lego Batman 2 demo is kind of not great when the screen gets crowded. Really hoping Spider-Man doesn’t have that problem.

  • My body is ready :D So many awesome demos. I’ll be downloading dat Heroes of Ruin demo later today!

  • E3 isnt as big as it used to be, e3’s purpose is to showcase stuff not reveal a bunch of stuff,  Nintendo’s First Party things are in development and it wont be ready for E3 til  2013 or 2014 so hush.

For all of you dissapointed with E3, let me ask you why you wanted to watch people talk for an hour?

  • And they didnt have any footage for Fire Emblem because its still all in Japanese, they didnt want to showcase it like that either.

    Where is kh3d?
