Konami haven’t forgotten about Metal Gear Solid HD Collection—the game is still coming to the Vita sometime this summer, and Konami released a trailer and screenshots for it at E3 this week. You can view the trailer above and find the screenshots below.

Now the only thing I want more is a DMC collection I’m a sucker for both series… this one looks solid enough to justify a purchase (Pun intended).

Yeah I would buy that in a second, and if for some reason they needed to slim it down to save space, I wouldn’t mind if they cut DMC2. =P

Btw, sometime this Summer is Tuesday next week for the US.

While I am looking forward to playing this on my Vita in a week I still find it difficult to call this a Metal Gear Solid HD Collection when the first Metal Gear Solid title is not included in the collection.

I know, right? I loved the first one! I’ve played that, I don’t know how many times, and I’ve beaten it a bunch as I’ve gotten the two different endings in the game (I wasn’t aware there was a second ending until I did something differently at a certain point in the game).

Why isn’t the first MGS on this? It’s basically two games, which are good games mind you (never played MGS3, so I can’t comment on it), but it feels weird to leave out the first one that started the MGS series.

Well PSOne games doesn’t translate well in HD. I know that there’s Twin Snakes with improved graphics, but Konami may have problems re-issuing the game since they outsourced the development to Silicon Knights.

I would gladly buy Twin Snakes if they ever release it separately though.

          Twin Snakes?

          • Zero Shift

Twin Snakes is a re-release of Metal Gear Solid on the Gamecube that came out in 2004. Twin Snakes included additional gameplay elements and enhanced graphics. Many fans didn’t like the way it was transitioned onto the Gamecube because of some minor control issues, but overall it was a great game.

A future project I want to see Hideo Kojima to do is a complete modern remake of Metal Gear 1 and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. If he can release two collections: The Big Boss Collection (Snake Eater, Portable Ops, Peacewalker), and The Solid Snake Collection (MG1, MG2, MGS1, Sons of Liberty), I’d be all over it.
