Mistwalker’s first iOS game, Party Wave, has its first trailer. Mistwalker have also erected a mini-site for the game with a description of what it involves. Here’s what it says:

“The objective of this game is to guide the surfers to catch a wave and avoid the obstacles. Touch the surfers to make them turn and jump so they won’t wipe out.
Can you dodge the dolphins and sea turtles and continue surfing?
Can you get closer to the mermaids sisters for a surprise?”

You can watch the game’s trailer above.

A few months back a friend and I started developing an iOS surfing game as there didn’t seem to be any. We were in the early planning stages when I saw a story here that Mistwalker were doing one too so we decided to drop it. I’m quite glad we did now as this looks similar to what we had in mind if a bit more hectic. I’d been envisaging more focus on stunts and having dynamic waves. No animals though.

I’ll be interested to see how this game does for them.

This seems to be quite an ambitious by Hironobu here.^^ And after seeing the trailer here it does looks quite fun lol.
Going to try this when they are released.^^

Looks like a crummy flash game to be honest :(

Game seems much easier to play on the bigger iPad than an iPhone.. Is that big jellyfish like a boss or something? This is pretty cool coming from the Gooch since he’s an avid surfer :)

Really like the cute char design kinda like Sonic, didn’t know it was done by Fujisaka Kimihiko, Last Story’s artist.. I think that was Kaida Yuki too the voice actress..

I would definitely get this if it’s on android too later, otherwise this would be my first game if I ever get an iPhone5 or iPad :)
