Sine Mora Is Also Headed To The PlayStation 3

By Ishaan . June 21, 2012 . 2:16pm

Sine Mora, a shoot-em-up developed by Digital Reality and published by Grasshopper Manufacture, was released on Xbox Live Arcade earlier in the year. Then, the game was announced for a PlayStation Vita release as well. Now, finally, it’s also been announced for the PlayStation 3 via PSN.

Sine Mora has boss battles designed by anime director, Mahiro Maeda, recognized for his work on Final Fantasy: Unlimited, The Animatrix segment "The Second Renaissance Parts I and II," and for animation work in Kill Bill Vol. 1. The game’s soundtrack is composed by Akira Yamaoka of Silent Hill fame.

The PlayStation 3 version of Sine Mora doesn’t have a release date yet, but we’ll keep a lookout for when that’s announced.

    Mahiro Maeda? Why mention FF:U when you can mention “the director of Gankutsuou”? Anyway, looks sweet, I’ve getting into shoot-em-ups again lately and I don’t have a 360.

  • cj_iwakura

    Sadly, 360 has become largely the system of choice for shmups. Hopefully this changes that, but not likely.

      It’s probably a bit too late now, anyway.

      I wonder where shmups companies are gonna go for the next generation. Maybe they’ll just jump ship to smartphones entirely? It seems to be working ok for Cave.

        I would imagine they’d be smarter this time around and build their audience on a dead system. So… perhaps PS3 and Wii U. I think the tablet controller could provide them with some pretty nice opportunities to branch out.
        Well, provided that they’re willing to work on a Nintendo system.

        • TrevHead

          It would be nice to think some niche dev would be still making shmups for this (HD) gen in 5 or 10 years time, like the dreamcast is atm.

          Although it depends on how many machines are still running at that time, atleast there wont be any knacked disc drives due to disk swapping like older consoles.

          Also a lot rides on MS, Sony & Ninty allowing for unlicenced games on their out of date machines, I think they would rather force them to publish on Digi DL on their current consoles so they can take a cut from them. MS has shown that they don’t give a crap about niche indie & XBLA games given how crap the dashboard is as a marketplace, outside the odd title most games rely on word of mouth than anything else.

        Can’t help but feel like smartphones is where it’s going to end up sadly >__<; But it'd be nice if next gen they are on a regional free system, because it really made this generation a fight for a lot of shmup fans.

        • malek86

          Well, no different from any generation before this one, really.

          Although the whole 360 hardware issues certainly must have made importing quite annoying, yes.

    GOD I’m glad to find the “old” disqus ! The new one is (was?) pretty awful :(

    Day one for Sine Mora on PS3. Don’t really have a choice here, my 360 (the second one by the way) is dead…

    I know a friend who will be happy to hear this =)

     Awesome news! So happy.

    Absolutely beautiful looking game, lots of really fun bosses and designs, and an intriguing storyline. But from a mechanical stand point, they had no idea what they were doing, the mechanics are kind of atrocious. Things like randomized power ups, pea-shooter base weapons, the count-down clock which only hinders new players, and punishing you for utilizing it’s mechanics that it encourages you to use o~o; As a competitive shmup it’s pretty bad >3<;

    It'd be awesome with their recent deal with G.Rev and it's cameos, if they could get some of G.Rev's staff to balance the game for competitive play oAo;;

  • Solomon_Kano

    Oho? Sweet. I wonder if this’ll be one of those “pay once get both versions” sorta deals? That’d be nice.

  • Göran Isacson

    So gonna buy this even if the mechanics are shite. I just can’t say no to a shmup where a legless bison manipulates a victim of rape into being his instrument of vengeance, that is the kind of horrible I THRIVE on. Also, everyone speaks hungarian! I am totally willing to put up with lack of polished mechanics if the story is that… special.
