Heroes of Ruin Demo To Hit U.S. Nintendo eShop Next Week

By Ishaan . June 28, 2012 . 4:31pm

A demo for Heroes of Ruin will go up on the U.S. Nintendo eShop next week on July 5th, n-Space confirmed today. The North American demo will be the same as the one already available in Europe, letting you play as the Gunslinger or Vindicator through one story quest and two side-quests in the Elder Forest region.

The demo also supports both offline and online co-op multiplayer for up to four players, just like the full game. The full version of Heroes of Ruin will also allow for voice chat.

Heroes of Ruin is already out in Europe. North America will get the game on July 17th.

Good.  I really want to play this before I make a judgement.  Where’s mah Theatrythm demo, Squeenix?!

Wow, they even let you try online? Niiiice, I wonder for how long though.

Too bad we’ll only be able to play it 30 times…

It’s a demo, after like time 10 don’t you think buying might make sense?

Well yeah, but it’s just the fact that there’s a limit in the first place makes Nintendo seem overprotective or something. Demos should just be demos. It’s not like it kills sales or something.

As a matter of fact, years ago Reggie said something along the lines of “we don’t offer demos [not yet at that point], because we first need to understand at which point players are satisfied with the demo and won’t buy the full game”.

Mind you, I guess this is the best solution they found. Still seems a little weird to me. And there are some demos that actually turn off after only 3 times, so there’s that too.
