Rhythm Thief Demo, Marvel Pinball 3D Dancingly Descend To Nintendo eShop

By Ishaan . June 28, 2012 . 10:30am

No Virtual Console or WiiWare games on this week’s Nintendo Downloads. Instead, it’s all games and demos for the Nintendo eShop.

Zen Studios’ Marvel Pinball 3D leads the way this week. As previously reported, the game includes four tables—Iron Man, Captain America, Blade and the Fantastic Four—with more tables coming as DLC down the line. Marvel Pinball 3D costs $8 to download. The game is available in Europe today as well.

Also out this week is Bomb Monkey, a puzzle game developed by Mutant Mudds and Dementium: The Ward developer, Renegade Kid. This trailer does a good job of explaining the game, and you can grab it for $5.

Earlier in the month, we also reported that Sega’s Rhythm Thief and the Emperor’s Treasure was on track for a July release in North America. While Europe has had a demo of the game for some time now, today, the demo will finally be released on the U.S. eShop. Nintendo also sent out a reminder that a demo for Kingdom Hearts 3D is up on the eShop as well.

Finally, you may recall that Nintendo of America recently announced that it would be holding a discount sale for a different game on the Nintendo eShop every week. This week’s discount is on gravity-flipping platformer, VVVVVV. While this game usually costs $8 to download, you can grab it from tomorrow (Friday) until 9pm PST on Sunday for $5 instead.

  • Rhythm Thief.  FINALLY!

  • kuroneko0509

    where’s my theathrhythm demo??? :P

    • Ark

      My thoughts exactly

    • Anime10121

Agreed.  I really wanna try that game out before I spend 40 bones on it, plus the money for dlc tracks.  This is the type of game I think a demo is extrememly necessasary, otherwise I wouldn’t give this game a second look.

I like FF music, but the whole thing just eeks of laziness to me.  Not redoing any of the tracks, using scenes from the older games without graphical touchups,  using that HORRID (IMO) artstyle from that Kingdom Hearts Avatar mobile thing, and this actually being what they are celebrating 25 years worth of Final Fantasy with (still hoping something bigger is announced at TGS or JF later this year for the 25th an.)?

When I get to try the demo, I’ll be able to decide whether I want this game or not (though as of now, I’m leaning towards a no).

  • Anesia Hunter

i’ve been holding my comments on rhythm thief, because i don’t want to accidentally stick my foot in my mouth about it simply because i “judged a book by it’s cover.” let’s hope the demo changes my mind.

  • AuraGuyChris

The Rhythm Thief demo was great. I got all three As in the three stages.

Also, the music is very good.

  • Shadowman

    Downloading Rhythm Thief right now^^

  • Solomon_Kano

I need to get a 3DS already. I’ve been interested in Rhythm Thief for a good while.

After playing the Rhythm Thief Demo, I really found a good game here. It’s fun, exciting and is a great trainer for my upcoming battle against all that Theatrythm has to offer.

  • Muffum

Just played the Rhythm Thief demo; it reminds me of Elite Beat Agents to some extent. The difference is that instead of you playing as agents who support people that are doing strenuous things to music, you are actually the person doing strenuous things to music.

This is a very good thing; I loved EBA.

  • zeta

at last i wont be hearing bahumas or something on rhythm thief(been plying the japanese demo)

  • Zonic505

Glad to see the Rhythm Thief demo finally on eShop. Think it’s one of those games where I’ll pick it up, but once it’s dropped in price about $10.

Also on board for VVVVVV being on sale during the weekend. Now let’s hope Nintendo can keep doing these deals & perhaps making them week long. Or better yet, doing more than just one game.

The demos was short, buty great, I really good game for the 3DS, I’ve been hungry for rhythm games and this game is going to satisfy that need, for some strange reason I was more easy to me play the without the aid, but overall a nice experience. I hope that nintendo keep releasing demos of titles like this one.

  • Just downloaded the demo for Rhythm Thief. I really hope I get some job soon… I want to buy this game.
