Xseed have announced a release date for The Last Story in North America. The Wii RPG is scheduled for release on August 14th, 2012, and Xseed have a $50 limited edition planned with a 44-page soft cover artbook and a custom outer box.

Additionally, Xseed say that pre-ordering the game at Amazon, EB Games Canada and GameStop will net you a bonus soundtrack CD with seven tracks from the game’s score, composed by Nobuo Uematsu.

Uematsu has discussed the difficulties of working on The Last Story in the past, saying that the project marked the first time that he and director, Hironobu Sakaguchi, held a difference in opinion on one of their games since the first Final Fantasy. You can read more about this here.
