Johnny Kung Fu Takes On Nintendo eShop, Mighty Switch Force Gets Discounted

By Ishaan . July 12, 2012 . 8:30am

This week’s Nintendo 3DS eShop release is a game titled Johnny Kung Fu ($6), developed by UFO Interactive. This is a side-scrolling beat-em-up where you play as Johnny, attempting to rescue his girlfriend, Paula, from the local crime group led by the mysterious Mr. Wang. In addition to the beat-em-up stages, the game also has stages that emulate the feel of Game & Watch games. You can watch a trailer for it above.

Also available this week are two more 3DS Virtual Console games—Kirby’s Pinball Land ($4) and The Sword of Hope II ($3)—originally released for the Game Boy.

Meanwhile, the Wii Virtual Console gets The King of Fighters ‘96 for 900 Wii Points ($9). This game added air-guarding, and small, medium and big jumps.

Finally, this week’s Game of the Weekend discount is on Mighty Switch Force, which you can grab for $3 between Friday (July 13th) and Sunday (July 15th). Mighty Switch Force normally costs $6.

Cannot recommend MSF enough, especially for only $3. Get it. Seriously.

Also like how Nintendo is choosing some great games to get discounted…though it seems to be the ones I already got.

Question- is this sale worldwide, or only for America?

    • Only for America. Europe had a bunch of titles on sale a while ago, but it ended on July 5th.

… Welp, that’ll show me to keep a better eye on my 3DS and possible deals for it :( Was MSF one of the titles on sale back then?
