Mixed thoughts, lets see how this pans out

  • Mago Iichi

I seriously laughed at the end there even though the rest of the video was just trying a little too hard to be funny.

    Color me interested though.

  • Looks strange, but I could already see it being good cause of the comedy relief. Plus, dismemberment.

  • MrSirFeatherFang

    1:04 wilhelm scream

  • Cool. I don’t know much about Deadpool but from what I do know about him, and what I just saw, Deadpool’s game won’t take itself seriously which is a good thing but on the other hand, Activision.

  • I really enjoyed that trailer… a lot. Can’t help but feel that I liked the voice actor of Deadpool from Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2; I will still take the game as it is.

  • ParaChomp

    No Nolan North…

    *is sad*

    • I think that is him, just not as over-the-top comical like i MVC3.

      • William Carpenter

It is him. His voice seemed deeper and slightly more gravelly than it was in MvC3 though, which is truer to the character.

  • SirRichard

On the one hand, it looks like it could play pretty well, and there were a few good laughs from that trailer. On the other, Deadpool following every shot with “bang pew pew” would get annoying really fast. And it looks really, really grey. The enemies are all grey, the sky is grey, the building is grey, Deadpool’s weapons are grey, really Deadpool himself and his text boxes are the only things with colour.

But, it could turn out well enough. Deadpool’s boxes fit surprisingly well within the context of a game, so it’s all in the execution.

  • “Deadpool”
“May contain content inappropriate for children”

NOOO~ Really? I mean, who could have expected that from a wisecracking nutjob?

  • For whatever reason when this said Deadpool, I thought it said Drowning Pool.  And I was confused.

  • MrRobbyM

I don’t know how I feel about this. The voice work seemed a little toned down for Deadpool and as @SirRichard:disqus mentioned, everything is grey and blah. But the gameplay could be promising. I think a Deadpool game from Capcom would have turned out much better. Well, mostly better.

    • Capcom would have just outsourced it to an inferior developer

  • epy

Bang bang bang bang! Pew pew pew!

  • I’ve played War for Cybertron, and I’ve enjoyed the game

I hope this game is on the same level

  • Prinnydoom

I agree with that last statement “Suck it wolverine” Finally ^___^ Starting to like deadpool a lot more >___<

  • William Carpenter

    Was that Psylocke I saw?

I actually really liked this trailer, Nolan North does a great job as Deadpool, but I really hope they don’t overdo the text box thing. That was an ocassional joke in Deadpool Volume 1, but ever since he came back in Cable & Deadpool and Deadpool Volume 2 it has become really overused and basically at this point the joke has collapsed in on itself.

Similarly, I hope High Moon remembers what makes Deadpool actually funny. He isn’t just randomly silly and stupid. He’s at his best when he is like he was initially; a parody of comic book excess, or whatever Marvel is doing at the time. He’s Marvel’s Ambush Bug, basically.

Hope to see Taskmaster and Weasel show up, too.

    • Solomon_Kano

I want Bob to show up too. That would be cool.

      • z_merquise

He can be Deadpool’s punching bag (literally). Poor Bob.

        • Solomon_Kano

I… actually want that to be a training level now lol. Just testing all of your moves on Bob.

      • William Carpenter

I’m actually not a huge fan of Bob! He was pretty cool when first introduced but after awhile, I dunno, it seemed like they forgot how to write him. But then again, that goes for most of Deadpool’s current ongoing.

I’d rather see Outlaw and Sandi.

        • Solomon_Kano

Yea, that kinda makes me hope High Moon’s got some writers on hand who have a good grip on any involved characters. That trailer hit the stuff I like about DP’s humor, from his actual dialog to its format to the little extras (Psylocke pin-up), but I hope they can write an entire game of him.

If Sandi and Outlaw show up, I want Agent X as well.

  • Lazulis

  • Oh god no, not more Nolan North. I never want to hear his voice ever again. He always does the exact same Nathan Drake voice for almost every role he’s ever done, and it drives me crazy.

    • Sperium3000

Geez, man, chill. The fact a voice actor can’t do a completely different voice every role doesn’t mean they’re bad. Look at Norio Wakamoto, for example. He has one and only one voice and he’s still more awesome than Giant Robot Donkey Kong Jesus Riding On A Puff Of Smoke.

      • Hinataharem

Wakamoto’s voice will father your children.

        • M’iau M’iaut

Few children could ever be that lucky.

      • LynxAmali

But in the process of Wakamoto never changing his voice, we get ridiculous things like this:

    •  In an interview, he said he’s almost always asked to do his Nathan Drake voice. Rocksteady specifically asked him not to do it for his role as the Penguin.

      • Nemesis_Dawn

He was the Penguin in Arkham City?!?

        • Solomon_Kano

          Exactly lol. Crazy, huh?

    • drproton

He has a ton of voices.  He did most of the voices for Portal 2, namely the other AI spheres and the crazy turret.

  • LynxAmali

    Deadpool…video game…by High Moon?

    My day has been made.

“May Contain Content Inappropriate for Children”

Was laughing so hard I got tears.

  • Zonic505

Totally digging the humor here. Now, PLEASE don’t let the gameplay suck. I don’t want this to fail.

  • Raiyu

All I have to say is if he has a special bar, I hope he takes it and uses it like a weapon like his level 3 ultra in MvC3

  • Hatkhora
    • Kitestwinblades

Thanks fo the link! And Shaman king Ftw! :3

  • Shadowman

Deadpool is an awesome mercenarie and his game is gonna be of the chain!! BANG BANG BANG BANG!!

  • Solomon_Kano

If this ain’t perfection, it’s damn close.

  • DarthSithZero

    Shoryu-ken!!! AIR COMBO!!

  • I think there are some people who figured Deadpool has always been the new Duke Nukem. And they’d be right. lol

There really isn’t anything else I can say about this.

    •  How about…

      • I just don’t know why you make me feel like this again!
Never do it now, never, never, never!

  • z_merquise

I love it! Deadpool deserves his own action-game. Don’t let the fans down, High Moon Studios!

    “Suck it, Wolverine”

Now I wonder if Wolverine is really here. So we can hear a voice-over battle between Steve Blum and Nolan North.

I think I saw Psylocke there in the trailer. I hope the other Uncanny X-Force team-mates would appear in this game too.

    • Solomon_Kano

I’m still not sure if the lady in the trailer was Psylocke, but she does appear on a poster right before they show the magazine with Rogue on it. I’m thinking it’s her, but it’s kinda hard to tell.

  • Kitestwinblades

This will probably be sold faster than you can say “Chimichangas”! XD
Cant wait to see more of this.

  • FitzpatrickPhillips

Looks pretty damn awesome. I wonder what kind of combat they’re gonna go with. Hopefully its something different from the whole Batman Arkham Asylum/City type fighting.

    • Solomon_Kano

I can’t imagine they’d go with combat like that. It would be incredibly lame since he uses both swords and guns. Tapping one button for combos when you have multiple weapons wouldn’t make much sense.

If High Moon is good at nothing else (and they are), they’re good at matching things up to source material. With the care that they put into War for (and now Fall of) Cybertron, I’m sure they won’t drop the ball with how DP’s supposed to fight.

  • This video is private… Will excuse me for forgetting my VIP pass!

  • Fidelis

I’m actually more worried about how they handle Deadpool as a character more than I’m worried about the gameplay.

Using North over Kassier usually is a bad thing in my mind but he’s improved by a very wide margin. I’ll still always read DP as KAssier but the voices used for the thought bubbles may hijack my reading status-quo.

Also the White box’s voice really makes it easier to believe the “remnant of Cable” theory…

  • Roberto Armando Iraheta

Looks pretty cool so far. I hope this does well because Deadpool only deserves the best.

  • Mildra

I could talk up a storm about whether nolan north is the right ‘fit’ for deadpool, or whether the gameplay is gonna be crap, or even if they have a handle on the character itself…. but all that is seeing the forest for the trees.

The important thing is we’re GETTING A @#$%ing DEADPOOL GAME. And so long as its fun, that’s all I care about.

  • Göran Isacson

What speaks against this project right now: a dull color scale, and I’ve heard War for Cybertron received mixed reactions for being a kind of slow cover-shooter when you weren’t in vehicle-mode, meaning this COULD be a cover-shooter too and slow methodical approaches and Deadpool is just… no.

What speaks for it: Deadpool. Quips and text-boxes. Deadpool. Riding a dude down a skyscraper while punching him. Deadpool. The possibility that this COULD be like the action-packed Wolverine-game from a while back only with guns and funny quips. Have I mentioned Deadpool? Because I should mention him again he’s kind of a big deal.

What I’m trying to say is that this looks hilarious and even if the worst case scenario coems to pass and the game is nothing but grey corridors and cover-shooting then at least it will be a game of grey corridors and nothing but cover-shooting with Deadpool and bouncing castles. And I’m willing to suffer through pop-up-pop-down gameplay for that, oh yes I am.

    • LynxAmali

Really depends on what crowd with WFC.

It does have sub-par aspects (like you said, slow when not in vehicle mode), the second game looks to be improving vastly on everything (Won an award at E3 even,)

Hopefully, the game does run off of it’s own engine that captures the fact that it’s Deadpool while learning from the issues the Transformers games had.

It wouldn’t really be a cover shooter. Deadpool has a katana.

  • LynxAmali

Just realized the ending of the video.

    “Suck it, Wolverine.”

My cameo senses are going off.

    • Solomon_Kano

With Psylocke getting a poster (and maybe an appearance, though I can’t decide if the “bouncy” lady is her) and Rogue showing up on a magazine before the trailer really even gets underway, I’d say your senses are correct. I mean, how could they not put Wolverine in here?

  • Devin Dunton

I am just so glad Deadpool is finally getting some recognition!! :D

  • British_Otaku

I’ve always had an interest in Deadpool, this over the top, VERY self-aware guy with guns and swords. I’m interested in this project to say the least.

Cool that he has his own game coming, hope it turns out good so I can make a Deadpool game my introduction.

  • XypherCode

    It’s Deadpool…
    nuff said XD

  • 60hz

hard to beat MVC3’s deadpool, but this looks like it’s heading in the right direction. Hopefully it’ll be a solid hack n slash…

  • mikanko

It’d be neat if Barney Toastmaster makes an appearance.

  • XiaomuArisu

Im gonna call him…what could possible go wrong?XD
BTW that voice…is it that guy from resonance of fate, the pervy dance guy?
    This one:

    • Solomon_Kano

      It is indeed. Nolan North.

  • Yu_TheKing

So much 4th-Wall breaking, so little time >3<
