Jet Set Radio Skating To iOS And Android This Summer

By Ishaan . July 23, 2012 . 10:30am

Sega are bringing Jet Set Radio to iOS and Android platforms sometime this summer. While not many specifics have been announced about the smartphone versions of the game, Sega say on their blog that it will be the “same game you’ve enjoyed on the Dreamcast”.

They also say that the iOS/Android versions of the game will include the same soundtrack as the console Jet Set Radio, and that you’ll be able to use pictures taken with your smartphone or tablet’s camera as in-game graffiti.

No release date or price has been announced for Jet Set Radio on iOS/Android yet.

Sega is popping up on every platform possible… not sure if that’s good. I think it makes their games less unique.

July is almost over, and it’s going to be August. So between now and mid-September, which is not far off, when are we getting this?

“same game you’ve enjoyed on the Dreamcast”.

That sounds kinda like a bad idea. Developers should try and make specific versions of their games for mobile platforms, not just get an existing game and slap touch screen controls on them. That will almost always end up badly.

Gunstar heroes was just fine for me.

I think this can be fine too if they implement support for the many ios arcade controllers that exist.

Touch would be ok too if you could double tap to dash.

Not sure if I want to play this with touch only controls.  I can think of ways touch can work for Jet Set Radio, but that is for graffiti drawing and stuff.

Jet Set Radio HD when though?

That’s great but unless Sega hurry’s up with the 360/PS3 versions, they are going to miss their summer launch at this rate .__.” Kind of surprised a lot of summer releases have been sliding!
