Man, I would LOVE to sit in on one of these recording sessions! Especially if its Yuri or one of my other favorite voice actors. :)

  • Hard to believe he voices a character who’s mentally unstabled and desires nothing but revenge…Can’t wait to see how he deals with the crazed Laughter part during the Kage Summit Arc xD

Yuri: Alright…So I’ll have to laugh really hard and loud. Can anyone give me a little push?

Sakura fan: Sakura will be Naruto’s wife at the end of the series! He loves her not Hinata!

    Yuri: Ha ha haah haa!

    Sakura Fan: I’m serious!

Yuri: Oh…Then let me laugh even harder…HAAA HAA HAAH HAAAH lol Silly girl! Hinata owns! Have you seen the Road to Ninja Hinata?!

    • Opn

       I wish there was a love button :( .

    • Pang Chee Jie

What’s not to believe? He did voice the borderline crazy Gig after all.

    • Well Shasuke laugh comes to mind….

  • Niermyico

  • Good Atlus. I would like to see one with the japanese voice actors too. And see some kind of interview in a more lenghty movie.

  • This. This is why Yuri is my favorite voice actor. That scream at the beginning and his little happy face afterwards just about killed me. xD Gah, the money I would spend to watch these recording sessions…

  • Xapth

Gosh, Yuri is such an amazing talented voice actor. I can see why he’d serve as an inspiration to any aspiring voice artist.

I mean, you GOTTA be good if you impress the Japanese Tales Studio so much that they name the main character of their next mothership title after you (many say his performance as Asch/Luke fon Fabre influenced the naming of Yuri Lowell)

He’s done a lot of work with Atlus before, too.
Let’s see here, Protagonist / Ryoji / Pharos from P3, Yosuke from P4, Serph from Digital Devil Saga, Toby from Catherine, and probably many more to come.

    • Shane Guidaboni

Serph from DDS? When did Serph ever talk?

      • Serph Sheffield

        • Shane Guidaboni

Ohhh! It’s all coming back to me now. The story segment from DDS2.

  • At the start, Yuri was trying to make my ears bleed! Was he recording lines for Persona 4: Arena or a Mortal Kombat game because that sounds like someone’s ripping his intestences and playing with.

  • Damn, he’s kinda cute! O_o Usually voice actors/actresses have faces for radio, but not in his case.

    • Search Tara Platt and Laura Bailey, they’re quite the lookers too.

      • Joan Ortiz

That Laura Bailey… damn, I’m in love.

        • I feel you dude… she’s married to Travis Willingham AKA Roy Mustang much to my dismay. (I want her to be my voice acting mentor)

  • BAH! We meet again Yuri Lowenthal! You and Laura Bailey have made me consider becoming a voice actress.

  • MrJechgo

These videos are always awesome, ’cause it’s good to see who’s voicing our favorite anime/game characters.

  • Tales_of_Master

Yuri Lowenthal, how I love his whiny voice :D

  • ShawnOtakuSomething

his voice is everywhere!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CAN’T PLAY A GAME OR LOOK AT AN ANIME WITHOUT HEARING HIS VOICE COME UP  *not bad great job* lol Ben 10

  • Koulamatata

I would love for a behind the scenes recording dvd to be a future pre-order bonus. I want to see more of the cast at work, in a little more depth.

  • Rogerrmark

Dean from Wild Arms 5,Luke from Tales of the Abyss,Yuri from Tales of Vesperia, and Yosuke from P4.

    Juuuuust epic

    • and Ben Tennyson on Ben 10.

    • hermenjart

Yuri Lowell from Tales of Vesperia is voiced by Troy Baker.

  • Spirit Macardi

Yuri’s a damn good VA. I’ve seen videos of people voicing for anime before, but never for games. Interesting to see.

I hope there’s another video with JYB voicing the protagonist.

  • Iris Miracle

This dude is badass. He voiced for a lot of amazing games. :d

    • He did a lot of non-anime voice, and non-Japanese video games voice also.  He’s just as awesome as Steve Blum.

  • Oltheros

Too bad I couldn’t care less about the English VA…

    • uh, did you know Japanese VAs that do anime and RPG also do dubs also.  Does that mean we should ignore seiyus when they do non-anime dub.

Because I make a big deal when Seiyus do non-anime non-Japanese games role.  As a matter of fact, a buddy of mine on ANN told me Rie Tanaka voiced a character in the JPN dub of Modern Warfare 3.

      • Oltheros

        That’s…great? I don’t see what you’re trying to say.

Since P4A is dual audio, I don’t plan to play it with the English voice acting anyways. I couldn’t care less about Yuri Lowenthal and his overused voice.

        • I’m trying to give you an open mind.  I met dub haters that bash English dub but praise Japanese dub on American stuff.  I met this dub hater online who praise Japan for an excellent dub on American video game and bashing the original English voice.  Just want to make sure you’re not a weeaboo/Japanese supremacists.  Also don’t you have a favorite English voice actor, what if he did anime voice acting.  Nolan North (aka Nathan Drake) voiced a character on Naruto and I have no problem with that.  A lot of my favorite Seiyus beside doing anime roles also do dub over American stuff.  So yeah that’s a big deal to me.

          • Oltheros

Fair enough, I generally prefer to hear original voice acting though, whether it be Japanese or America.

I just dislike how Atlus is so closed-minded towards the concept of dual-audio. Atlus USA would never give us a feature like this on the Japanese voice actors.

          • Well have you ever watch anime dubbed in English, or watch an American cartoon/show in Japanese dub (or even played American games in Japanese). Give it a try, also who knows if your favorite seiyus is probably doing the dub. I was surprised some of my favorite seiyus doing non-anime non-JRPG dub. Hell, I would’ve love to hear Mass Effect in Japanese audio (with Megumi Hayashibara as Femshep, and Norio Wakamoto as Harbinger).

          • “I just dislike how Atlus is so closed-minded towards the concept of dual-audio. Atlus USA would never give us a feature like this on the Japanese voice actors”

What do you mean by that? A lot of Atlus games has dual audio. Have you played Riviera on PSP, or any Persona game they have dual audio. Yggdra Union on PSP had both JPN and English audio

          • M’iau M’iaut

@mikedo2007:disqus Sadly it’s an opinion only based around P3 and P4, since those are the games that brought new faces to Atlus games and for which the Japanese VAs are so well known.

I don’t doubt that at the time, the size of the data files and the PS2 limitations would have made dual audio a bit of a tight fit. I also can agree that the broader audience potential of P3/P4 would have been quite evident, and that going ENG VA gave the better chance of reaching that broader audience.

All in all it’s a small price to pay for the two JRPGs very arguably the best in show since the PS1 generation and back.

          • M’iau M’iaut, Atlus has done dual audio for a lot of their games.  I do agree back then it was hard due to limitation.  We now live in the age where dual audio is possible.  Also it’s not only US, Japan also had to make sacrifices when it comes to dual audio when they dub our games into Japanese.  When Japan dub Bioshock they can fit only one audio, the Japanese dub was the only audio for the JPN version and yet it sounded so good on par with the English and I know I have listened to the game in that dub online (the voice fit the characters, the tone fits the atmosphere).

          • Oltheros

There are numerous examples of Atlus releases with no dual audio: everyone persona game, both ds titles, Digital devil saga, raidou series.

Pretty much every game developed by Atlus lacks dual audio.

  • … I didn’t noticed it sooner, but, at 0:19 you can see a MW3 poster

    They sure are awesome

  • Based Prince Vegeta #BADMAN

Most of his voices sound the fucking same. I hear either Sasuke or Simon in all the voices he does.

  • Rollersnake

You know, until now I didn’t actually know what Yuri Lowenthal looked like, and I just realized I’ve been picturing him as the Prince of Persia all this time.

  • Elemiel

I’d like to see more of these things. Specifically perhaps Steve Blum or Crispin Freeman, because I remember one of them saying that they were in a contest to see who could say the most naughtiest things in the recording studio.

  • Code

Haha that was fun >w<;; Also Austin Krier looks like one of my best friends, the resemblance is uncanny .___.''

  • Yu_TheKing

This is why you don’t watch videos with 100% volume while family are around >w<

  • Lazulis

I’d like to see what it was like for him when he voiced Gig. Are we getting any more behind the scene with VAs or no?

  • Go2hell66

Zen United please come through don’t leave us hanging!

also damn thats what VA’ing looks like!? not as glamorous as i’d hoped…

  • KOTheWorld

I still remember him, as Haseo from dot hack GU.
I loved it when he screamed “SKEEEEEEEIIIIIITTTTHHHH!!”

    • Yaminess

The funny thing about that was that Haseo looked a lot like Sasuke…~

  • keithmaxx

From the company that’s hard at work at bringing the next BIG game across the ocean. ATLUS, keep on rocking!
