Crysis 3 Footage Shows Off Both Guns Blazing And Stealth-Style Play

Crytek and Electronic Arts have released a lengthy new play video for Crysis 3, that shows the return of recurring character, Prophet, who you’ll get to control in the game. The footage shows Prophet in two separate areas and demonstrates both run-and-gun and stealth-style play:

Crysis 3 takes place in 2047 and will take place in New York like Crysis 2. This version of New York is encased in a Nanodome shell created by the corrupt Cell Corporation, which they say is meant to help preserve the human population after the events of Crysis 2. The city is now a mix of an urban and jungle environment.

Crysis 3 will be released in Spring 2013 for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Unless they are fixing the AI… I don’t see any reason for a third Crysis game yet.

    • To finish the series up so Crytek can spend the rest of their careers cranking out free-to-play software for Mega Bucks, duh

I enjoyed Crysis 2 somewhat, but there’s something about the game I just didn’t like. I’ll check this out though.

  • And still we have no clear indication whether the game will be more of Crysis 1’s open environments or Crysis 2’s guided setpieces. Looks closer to 2, though, considering all the CO chatter and recycled assets from that game (pretty sure I even heard reused voice clips for some of the Cell troopers). I hope it’ll be at least a bit more open-ended.

On another note, Psycho is sounding an awful lot more Daniel Craig-ish than he did the first time around. I assume it’s a different voice actor?
