Okami HD Clip Shows Off Ryoshima Coast Scenery In High Definition

Capcom Japan have uploaded a short clip for Okami HD, showing off the Ryoshima Coast area from the game. There isn’t much to see aside from the pretty Ryoshima scenery, but it looks much more impressive if you switch to HD resolution using YouTube’s options.

Okami HD will be released in North America this fall for $20 on the PlayStation 3. The 3rd Birthday developer, Hexadrive, are collaborating on the game with Capcom.

Really should have made this for Vita.

    • SlashZaku

It’s Capcom.  PSN version now and after people have gotten their fill, Vita version some 6 months later with an Okamiden port to boot or something just to get people to double dip.

  • Damn, that’s beautiful. :’)

  • Ayaka

Sigh… if they only think about making this a retail version, maybe with some sort of neat goodies like… an artbook? With the beauty of both art and soundtrack in Okami, that should be really a marvelous pack which I would surely buy.

But anyway, the game still looks definitely awesome in higher resolution.

Consider buying it on the PSN, and then “pretend” you’re buying a retail version by buying the Okami Official Complete Works. You’ll not regret it.

  • Am I the only one who doesn’t care too much about the visual upgrades?
I like the HD remaster phase every company is in simply for whatever they fixed, like frame rate, glitches or loading times as well as porting games I never got to play the first time around.  Also if they add any content too!

I watched it in 1080 P and it still looks the same to me.

    Remastered? Laughable.

    • Bakuryukun

That’s weird, I JUST played the part in the PS2 version and it looks much crisper.

Rose colored glasses much?  If nothing else, it’s in widescreen now.

Can’t wait too play akami in My PS3….

Oh, the memories…. The beautiful memories of me playing this with a smile from ear to ear. I love this game so much.

  • Stuart Nisbet

I refuse to accept that this game is beautiful. It has nice art direction and good ideas but I’m sorry, I hate the execution so much. I hate the big thick black lines smeared everywhere, I really dislike them. They look beautiful from a distance but in-game everything is just so thick and chunky and busy looking. I get that it’s supposed to echo old ink drawings and stuff but I just don’t think it looks nice, the line-weights bother me.

It’s called art. You don’t have to like it, but that doesn’t mean it’s bad.
