Pre-Order Ni no Kuni At GameStop For A Nice Steelbook Case

By Ishaan . August 3, 2012 . 1:31pm

Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch has a cool Wizard’s Edition that is available exclusively from Namco Bandai’s ClubNamco store. This comes with the Wizard’s Companion hardcover art book and other collector’s bonuses.

If you just plan on picking the game up normally, though, you might want to pre-order it from GameStop in the U.S. or EB Games in Canada. Pre-ordering at either one will get you this steelbook case for Ni no Kuni with alternate art:

You can also pre-order the game from Amazon, but their bonus isn’t as nice. Amazon pre-orders will come with a “Griffy” familiar, which isn’t in the Japanese version of the game:

Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch will be released in North America on January 22nd, 2013 for the PlayStation 3.

    How about the spellbook instead?

  • XYZ_JolteonZ980

Hopefully both come to the bandai store, gotta make my $119 truly worth it on there!

  • Still really annoyed that you can only get the collectors edition if you live in the US. Surely they’d turn a profit if they opened up to Canada and the UK.

  • idrawrobots

That is cool looking and I even work at GameStop but I had to buy the Wizard’s Edition for the goodies. Hoping more people pre-order that version.

    • VietKnight

I know that feeling, work at GS also, but since my budget is getting drawn out by every single game I had to set my limits to just the game. Only thing I want in the Wizard Edition is the book.

    • Zonic505

Yeah, pre-ordered the Wizard’s Edition as soon as that Ninostarter campaign was announced. Seriously hope we hit Goal 1 & perhaps Goal 2.

      • idrawrobots

There are 26days left and the first goal is at 87%, I was hoping it would do a little better than that.

  • Zeik56

But are they selling the Wizard’s Edition? I’ve been holding off on ordering of the namco site hoping that Amazon or something would get it.

    • Solomon_Kano

Nope. As Namco said, it’s exclusive. Unless you live in the UK.

  • I’m a total sucker for Steelbook releases. wish it was available at more places though.

  • KotaroInugami

Can you not get Griffy otherwise? O.o

  • Anime10121

I may have to switch my preorder from Amazon to Gamestop (cant believe i said that), even if it is a few dollars more expensive, that steel case is SEXEH :D

  • Hmmm, looks like Gamestop it is. Although I do like the Griffy familiar.

  • Barrit

If only they handled this like the Assassin Creed 3 pre-orders where they were giving out the steelbooks when you placed it… then I’d so get it. For now, it’s the Wizard Edition for me. I’ll have to get ripped off on eBay later down the line lol.

  • VietKnight

So getting it now though I had it preorder since March.

  • Nyandroid

YES! This is great! I still get to get a little something extra nice from this game without having to order the Wizards edition! Couldn’t be happier! =^w^=~

  • Nikolai Sumcad

Nah, I think I’ll stick with the Namco Bandai site exclusive. This is Studio Ghibli we’re talking about after all. Good marketing though.

  • Covnam

That looks really nice. Hopefully the Wizard’s Edition gets it as I’m thinking of picking that up.

  • Solomon_Kano

    So… very… tempting!

  • Pre-ordered mine from, hopefully we’ll get some neat pre-order bonuses as well :)

  • Lionxie

No waiting for DS version :(

    • Anime10121

You’ll likely never stop waiting then, I cant recall where I read the interview, but Level 5 has pretty much confirmed the DS game’s not coming.  Beside, while having the same characters and worlds, I’ve heard the story/gameplay is unique to each anyway, so you still wouldnt be able to experience the PS3 version anyway.  Dont get me wrong though, I wish we got both, but I’m much happier we got the PS3 version over the DS one, if for no other reason than screen size.

  • *takes a deep breath and screams*

That’s my basic reaction. Now if you don’t mind, I have to go bleed my wallet dry.
