Coin-Op.TV (via Game Jouhou) have posted a bunch of short Darksiders 2 videos to their YouTube channel, giving a good look at combat, inventory management, traversal and more. The combat video in particular is nice, because it shows off how combos, melee and firearm weapons work. Take a look at them below:

This game looks so amazing. Based on what I’ve seen it might actually be my game of the year.

it’s either this or Dishonored, the most 2 unique games this year, I will get pretty angry if someone mention Medal of Honor or Call of Duty, Assassin’s Creed stand a chance too with the improvement, but I would rather the GOTY goes to a newly established IP.

Oops, this comment was supposed to go one up. Reposting!

What I mainly liked about the first game was the fact that it’s so rich and varied in its visual color palette – especially for a drawing style that leans heavily on gruffy/edgy/macho elements. Seems like this game will be continuing that visual style.

It will expand alot more, we got 4 distinctive worlds, not to mention each world may have different art styles combined within.

Really Darksiders is an AMAZING series that deserves support.

I totally agree. Any devs that remember Panzer Dragoon fondly enough to put a good clone of it in their game deserve no shortage of money thrown at them.

I had “obtained” Darksiders the First since I knew nothing about it, but once I got to that point I immediately went and bought it. It’s a horrible PC port from a technical standpoint, but the gameplay is just so great that I don’t regret buying it one bit.

It’s the biggest pleasant surprise I’ve had this gen.

I will be honest, I am a sucker for 2 things, Stealth and Hack n Slash, I bought DS1 day one, I had a blast playing it, I just finished replaying it today and got the platinum too, the game is still really amazing.

I do agree it is one of the biggest pleasant surprises of this gen, another one comes to mind is Castlevania Lords of Shadow, another over the top crazy super amazing game, I totally loved it, I am at the point where I don’t care about any hack n slash game other than DS2 & CLOS.2, I will skip the new God of War ((will borrow it from a friend tbh)), will skip DmC, will skip Metal Gear Rising Revengance.

DS2 & CLOS.2 will be more than enough for me.

4 worlds? Wow. Well, you know what they say~

Bigger is better; except for the protagonist.

yup exactly, but you know what I love about Darksiders is that it satisfy me, I do care about quality, but I also care alot about lenght, DS1 gave me around 20hrs of gameplay or more, in my eyes such a developer deserve my money, cause they respect me, I used to love God of War, and it is amazing, but I can’t put on with a 6hr SP, it just meeeeh to me.

Also they said if they make DS3 they may get the scale down a bit, this isn’t bad as it seems, since according to the lead designer they want to create a smaller more richer world, than an even bigger world with nothing to do.

I really hope that it actually sells 4:5 millions, so it can guarantee a sequel.

So judging by the Platforming video it looks like they’re also taking “inspiration” from Prince of Persia this time around.

    Most excellent.

His voice, it needs to sound more like Skeletor!

Love the camera. though his movement looks like he’s half hovering

I like how Death is a whole lot more agile than War. Plus, a whole lot more weapons? I’m in.

did they remove the damage counter?

It’s looking great except… that I never liked when some character takes weapons out of his ass during combos. Same stands here.
