Namco Bandai’s Tank! Tank! Tank!, a multiplayer game where you ride around in tanks fending off giant monsters, is headed to the Wii U this holiday season. This morning, Namco Bandai gave a new look at the game via a Gamescom trailer:

Tank! Tank! Tank! supports up to four players. The game includes Free-for-All, Versus, and Team Versus modes, as well as a campaign that lets you level up your tanks. You can read our hands-on impressions of the game here.

This game calls to mind something I would’ve played on the N64 with my brothers as a kid. It just looks one of those simple, fun local multiplayer games we had back then, but don’t see now. As such, I’ll probably get it, if and when I get a Wii U.

I don’t care what anyone says. This game looks crazy fun.

this game really is a blast to play in the arcade with those loud squeaking chairs that shake whenever you do anything.

Ever since E3, I can’t get the words “Tank! Tank! Tank!” out of my head, I can still hear it! It’s like it’s saying “buy this game” in tank-language or something and it’s working because I want it :D

Hm. It’s probably just me, but that song doesn’t exactly bring me the image of “family party game”. [Shrug]

Still… the game holds a formula that can be applied to some Tokusatsu games. For example, some Super Sentai series which gives each team member their own vehicle.

Ooh, that’s not a bad idea. Although… you WOULD have to morph all the characters into one giant robot sooner or later, so you’d have to somehow make all players controlling one machine fun as well. That sounds a bit trickier.

I did think of that, yeah. It is the Super Robt genre convention, after all. It could be circumvented, though, by just having the vehicles be separate, non-combinable – probably as just a kids’ sci-fi setting or something.

I dunno, I’m just throwing out whatever I have in mind. XD

rar, I think they are greatly underestimating the age demographic that is going to be interested in this o3o Over the top tank monster battles appeal to EVERYONE of ALL AGES Namco ◕ 3 ◕~!

They did say it’s a “party game” though, which is commonly understood as being aimed at casual players, and that demographic doesn’t really have age restrictions.

  • Göran Isacson

God I love that blond kid- he is SUPERPUMPED to blow stuff up, and I can honestly buy it because this game looks like the kinda game you CAN Get superpumped for.

  • KotaroInugami

You can put a picture of yourself in the game?… Yeah… There is a sense of humor in some that is going to totally vulgarize that…
