Samurai Warriors: Chronicles 2nd, slated for released this September, has branching scenarios that rely on player choices. The game also has multiple endings as well as new generals, and Tecmo Koei released a new promo for it this week:

The branching story in Chronicles 2nd will be illustrated in flowchart form, so players are able to see what choices lead where. The game also has local multiplayer and online rankings, as well as enhanced character customization.

Samurai Warriors: Chronicles 2nd will be released on September 13th for the Nintendo 3DS.

This BETTER cross the Pacific, because the first game was great. However, I really hope that this time, Koei-Tecmo adds English Audio. SW3 (Wii) had dual audio and BlazBlue CSII (3DS) had dual audio… and that story mode is HUGE, so if a game like BlazBlue was able to have dual audio on a 3DS cartridge, I don’t see how SWC2 couldn’t.

Please note that I’m asking for dual audio, not replacing Japanese by English.

Also, I do hope that they made the very last mission, Osaka Summer Campaign (Toyotomi Side), more manageable. Seriously, on Normal mode, when you try the mission for the very first time without being able to change the characters’ starting points, it’s almost an instant death.

Let me explain: You had your custom character, Yukimura, Kunoichi and Kai, all of which you can’t change their starting point unless you clear the mission a first time. They all start inside Osaka Castle… which is inside a low-morale zone, meaning that you’re weakened and your enemies are stronger. You have 2 generals that are charging PASSED Kai (no seriously, they start behind Kai) toward an NPC that if he’s killed, it’s mission failed (either his or Yukimura’s death will fail the mission). Right off the bat, it’s a pain to deal with.

Even you protect the NPC against those 2 generals, you then have to kill 5 engineers or else the castle is lit afire, damaging everyone inside, including the NPC. Furthermore, if the castle is lit, you don’t get the mission to evacuate the NPC outside and subsequently outside of the map, eliminating a defeat condition. That’s another blow on your side… ouch.

I swear, I had to put the game on Easy so the morale effect wouldn’t apply in the battle and defeat those 2 generals in due time. However, since I cleared the mission, I could retry it on Normal but with different characters and starting points.

So yeah, please cross over with both English and Japanese and with a more manageable but still challenging last mission.

This looks pretty cool. I’m wondering how it’ll be different from the first one as I thought that was pretty comprehensive. But since I’m a huge Warriors fan, I have no doubt I’ll pick this up if it comes over.
