Alundra, Arc the Lad And Other MonkeyPaw Titles Join PSOne Classics For Vita

By Ishaan . August 27, 2012 . 9:30am

Sony will begin rolling PSOne Classics out for the PlayStation Vita this week, on August 28th (tomorrow).

As previously reported, not all PSOne Classics will be playable on the system right away—Sony are going to be making the catalogue compatible a bit at a time—but we do know that this week’s batch of titles will include games from MonkeyPaw.

MonkeyPaw announced this morning that the following PSOne Classics will be made Vita-compatible this week: Alundra, Vanguard Bandits, Arc the Lad, Arc the Lad II, and Tomba!

What other PSOne Classics will be available for the PlayStation Vita tomorrow is not yet known. Sony mentioned Final Fantasy VII, Tomb Raider and other titles at Gamescom, but didn’t specify just when they would be playable on the Vita.

Oh cool, this gives me a reason to revisit Arc the Lad and Alundra. I should pick up Tomba sometime… maybe when I buy a $20 card to get Retro/Grade.

Alundra is the reason i have been waiting for this vita update. It came to psn like last week but i want to play it on the vita. I saw this game when i was like 11-13  and i have always wanted to play it…..i hope it’s worth the wait now lol.

I assure you my friend it really worth the wait.

That a relief. When i saw the trailer as a kid it looked like legend of Zelda on steroids. The music got my hyped as well lol.

Cannot wait for the firmware update to hit tomorrow. I’ve wanted to play Tomba on the go & it seems I didn’t have to wait that long. Plus the other stuff like controlling the main menu, music, & videos w/ buttons as an option is a nice bonus.

    Xenogears and Suikoden. IMMEDIATELY.

Konami should put Suikoden II on PSN to celebrate putting Suikoden I on Vita.

I like the way you think. SII is my fave RPG of all time.

YES I don’t have a Vita yet but good to know I won’t have to wait forever.

Hope that all PS1 Games will be supported. Would be really BS if I were not able to play FM3 or Kurushi Final for example :D

Alas, I own none of these. I’ve certainly considered adding Arc the Lad to my collection, but it’ll have to wait. Backlog and whatnot.

Hopefully tomorrow’s update lets me play FFVII and/or IX. Past that, Xenogears, PE, and Vagrant Story would all be lovely.

Love love love the Arc the Lad games. Especially Arc the Lad II, that game will deliver you one epic quest and one EVIL final boss.

Oh, Alundra. I’ve been hearing good things about this game. If it’s on the PSN for PSP, perhaps I’ll pick it up.
