A Sol Trigger Story Intro To Lead Up To Next Week’s Demo

By Ishaan . August 31, 2012 . 1:01am

Imageepoch’s long-awaited Sol Trigger demo is due out next week, and will give players a taste of one hour from the game. Today, Imageepoch released a movie that kicks off the game’s story, which you can watch below:

Sol Trigger’s story is penned by Kazushige Nojima. In the city of Kaiserhald, the Machine Church wants to harness Sol energy from the city’s citizens, and the Sol Trigger group rises up to oppose the church.

The Sol Trigger demo will be released on September 6th. It will contain Chapter 0 (a tutorial) and Chapter 1 of the game. The full game is slated for release on October 4th in Japan.

  • Hmm…. good animation overall lk the usual GC episode. (JC did the animation ryte?) Feels lk one too.
Also white hair dude, you look too d*mn like Gai w/h his hair tied up.
    Eyepatch dude = Shuichiro Keido??

Someone gotta sub this. And we need some good PSP game too…

Hero =/= (does not equal) Ouma Shu. I like.

This game has so much potential, it’s a shame that there’s no plans to bring this out to the rest of the world. I know the PSP isn’t doing that well, but even a localized PSVita version/digital download would’ve been very great. Seems like a very interesting game indeed.

    • 猫 黒

“Isn’t doing that well” is a bit of an understatement; the PSP’s dead outside of Japan.  Didn’t Sol Trigger call itself the last RPG on the PSP or something?  It’s probably the last original IP (not VN, anime, manga adaptation) even Japan’ll see.

Hopefully, PSP goes the way of the PS2 and stays in gamers’ hearts well into the future; it’s had a really good run. *salutes*

I still play games on the psp…though im probably amongst a select few..I realy would like to see this game localised …but I think thats a slim to none chance sadly.

      • Fidelis

I really think what did the PSP in the hardest was how hilariously easy piracy was on that console.

I mean, imagine being a dev assigned to make a game on it. You would know from the get-go that the game’s potential profit would be sliced in half just BECAUSE it’s on the PSP

It’s a tragedy that demonstrates on a small scale what piracy can do to the industry

  • l777l

    I’d buy an English version.

  • This looks too good not to be localized. I hope it does really well in Japan so they will consider bringing it out to everyone around the world.

  • Mad_Dog_Yayan

It’s really weird hearing Tomokazu Sugita voicing another character with white hair and armed with a scythe, makes Valter looks like a long lost cousin of Ragna The Bloodedge.

  • Zeromus321

Would be nice to see this get localized as it looks like a great RPG. It would also not be the first time an Imageepoch game has been localized. The only thing I could see hurting it is the fact it’s on the psp.

I have just been confused as to who holds publishing rights to imageepoch games in the west. I heard NIS america signed them to a deal in 2011. Yet Aksys games was able to localize Fate/Extra in 2011.

  • $24431191

Can’t wait to try this demo.

  • October the month of my birth… I’m seeing an excuse for importation :3
