Ever since its release, Capcom have continually updated Monster Hunter Frontier, the online Monster Hunter game for PC and Xbox 360. Next April, they’ll be releasing a rather major update for it, titled Monster Hunter Frontier G.

Monster Hunter Frontier G will add three new fields to the game, along with 150 G-rank weapons, 150 G-rank armours, 30 new skills, four new elements, and 10 new monsters.

Additionally, new actions will be added for 11 existing weapon types, and 21 monsters in the game will be upgraded to G-rank as well.

Monster Hunter Frontier G will be released on April 17th, 2013. You can find images of the announcement event at the link above.

  • Monster Hunter has a rather Solid fanbase overseas, why they don’t release Frontier in the rest of the world? I think it’ll do Good.

    • Frontier makes money off of its subscription fee. No one would be willing to pay that outside of Japan and Asia.

      •  But wasn’t that the case with MHTri in Japan? maybe my memory is wrong, but I remember that said games had Fees in Japan, but not Overseas.

They could make Frontier Pay 2 win or something. And besides, WoW for example, has a monthly Fee and is pretty popular. Obviously we can’t compare the popularity between WoW and MH, but I think there’s people willing to pay a Monthly Fee for this one.

I wonder if this is the monster hunter news capcom has for US.

    • Nope.

      • FitzpatrickPhillips

        Such powerful meaning behind such a simple word. ;_;

        • Just don’t want people to get the wrong idea!

  • riceisnice

Still waiting for the Monster Hunter news that pertains to the Rest Of The World.

  • gquain

    Woah, nice Capcom!!!
The japanese players will jump into the air out of joy!!!

  • ZeroWalker

Yay and update for a mmo game I want but they said we will never get. I think I read on an old article here on Siliconera that some CEO or something said we would not like it cuz of some culture bullshit. Bah bullshit they dont wanna release ut out side japan cuz they think it´s to hard for us like when they gave us another game instead of real super mario 2 cuz they taught it would be to hard for us back then 2.

    • *sigh*

      • ZEROthefirst

It’s ok, you’re not alone on that one.

      • SolidusSnake

        His username is quite appropriate.

        • Luna Kazemaru

           I love you for that.

        • ZeroWalker

and what has my username to do with anything. If u wanna know I picked it cuz I like Warcraft 2 rely much but I beter your to you to ever played that game but the name should be familiar with the kid game WoW.

          • SolidusSnake

Shouldn’t you be busy building barracks, then? :3

          • Nemesis_Dawn

For the love of god, man, there are programs that automatically point out to you when you spell something wrong!

      • Luna Kazemaru

         Sniper support standing by.

  • Godmars

How come we hardly, if ever, hear anything about how MMOs are doing on consoles in the general gaming media?

  • LegendaryLos

Somehow I got hype and read the title thinking that it meant it was going to actually release in the US. :/ *sigh*

  • Kody Smith

These platforms don’t make the slightest bit of sense. PC isn’t really big in Japan, and the 360 has been dead for years there, its the lowest selling console in Japan. PS3/Wii/3DS or even delaying it for Wii U would have made infinitely more sense.

    • Kefkiroth

The game has been out for years, this is just an update.
And by that logic, maybe no games should be made for PC and 360… it’s not like Monster Hunter suffers from it, it still sells like hotcakes with the portable games and Tri. Don’t discriminate consoles just because they’re not selling well, Monster Hunter can handle it.

    • Actually, Frontier on 360 is the result of a Microsoft deal, I believe. The original Frontier was on PC, and co-development of PC/360 games is easy-peasy because of the similarities in architecture.
Additionally, Frontier makes money off of its monthly subscription fees. So, between those and the relatively lowered cost of cross-development on PC/360, it makes a whole lot of sense.

  • Lightthrower

    What about the Vita version?

    • @Lightthrower:disqus @redmotman:disqus Read the rules please, guys. No console/port-begging allowed on this site:

      • Fango

        retarded rule, but whatever

      • HassanJamal

Sounds a like a legitimate question. Ah well.

  • FlameEmperor

    Uh uh…………….

  • ZEROthefirst

I remember getting to play this 2 years ago when a buddy of mine came down from Japan, and while it is Monster Hunter it just doesn’t feel all that great while actually playing it. Not to mention all of the monsters are reskins of other monsters with a few different attacks here and there. The only truely unique monster is (I forgot it’s name) the giant dragon that takes up the entire field and takes about 2-4 runs to actually kill it.

  • XypherCode

I always wondered what that ‘G’ stands for. :P

    • d19xx

      Gone from Sony consoles…

  • Localization chances: 0%

  • Areuto

I play frontier now, I’ll play this one later

  • Spider-Man

Man, I cringe every time I see old gen Rathalos. Dem skinny wings.

  • Fango

how many times are they going to rebrand Frontier? same ol’ sht

  • Pedro Magalhaes

  • Deathgod881

Ah come on where’s the US release!?

  • ShawnOtakuSomething×250/24208074.jpg What I’m seeing when I looked at the comments. Hahaha why care? We are getting Monster hunter U and 3G next year. Better to have that, then not localizing any at all.
