This week’s U.S. Club Nintendo reward is the original Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo 64.

The game costs 1,000 Wii Points on the Wii Virtual Console, but until September 16th, you can grab it for 200 Club Nintendo coins instead.

Sounds like a great offer to get rid of those loose points after a big Club Nintendo prize which isn’t a ringtone or background. If the points are scaled the same in North America as here, that would be one (first party or otherwise Nintendo pushed game) Wii/3DS game for 250 stars (that’s what the currency is here).

Hope those of you with an NA Wii enjoy it.

I’m hoping Nintendo eventually starts offering eShop credit for points. Who knows if they ever will.

PS. the currency is very different in the USA, I think they give you something like 50 points per game. So it would be 1000 stars here. Still quite cheap.

You know that is impossible don’t you? Considering, the moment Nintendo provides a free way to get eshop credit, thhe number of consumer who bought eshop credit will drop hard there and seeing how they are now releasing a lot of game via Eshop.

They gave out Wii Points for stars, so it’s not impossible.

if i could get it to the 3ds and with muliplayer support it would be a no brainer XD, the biggest no brainer EVAH

To be honest I was kind of hoping that, with the next super smash bros releasing on both the Wii U and 3DS, 3DS owners would have the chance of getting this game too

Now I will have all 3 Smash Bros. games on one console… I have no reason to stop playing those games ever.

I’ve been shying away from VC for a while now, but I have lots of extra coins and this sounds pretty good! Sold.

It says it’s not available at the moment. Not sure if it’s because I’m Canadian or because it actually is unavailable..
