Ubisoft are bringing a new Rayman game to iOS and Android devices. Titled Rayman: Jungle Run, the game uses the same engine as last year’s Rayman Origins, and is due out later this month. Here’s a short trailer:

Rayman: Jungle Run tasks you with trying to get to the end of each stage in one piece, and has controls designed specifically for touch devices. The game is scheduled for release on September 20th.

Oh god, finally a cellphone game for android too.

I wonder if this will run well on my Galaxy W. The 3D performance is good, but the relatively low memory sometimes make 2D games laggy. Oh well, hopefully there will at least be a demo.

So it’s just a bunch of Skull Teeth levels? As fun as those levels were (and as brilliant as Rayman Origins is), I’m not sure how they’ll hold up as a stand-alone game.

I guess porting small bits of a game from dedicated gaming consoles to iOS is the new thing for companies to get more dough…

  • Well, depending on the price, I might just get it. Looks fun!

Could be a bunch of Skull Teeth levels. Those are probably some of the best bits of platforming I’ve played, so it’s nice that they’re emphasizing them in this game.
I don’t see how controlling Rayman would be practical with a virtual thumbstick, so I assume this is just him running forward continuously with the player having to time the jumps/punches.
