DAT SELVARIA, DAT SEXY RIELA! but I need a sexy Imca too >:

  • SetzerGabbiani

Valkyria Chronicles has some of the best artbooks around.

    I love that swimsuit page.

  • Zeromus321

……………….It’s like being kicked in the nuts when your down, when you see all that gorgeous artwork for a game that never got localized. DAMN YOU SEGA!

    • http://www.segalization.com/ Kuronoa

Damn that PSP audience who didn’t support the system too. Well I don’t know who to blame but many companies were hesitant not just SEGA.

Sad that our only exposure of the game is gonna be the artbook but better than nothing (even it if does spoiler the experience if we do get the game in some form).

it’s probably because how rampant piracy is on the PSP outside of Japan… I did my part for supporting them ;x it’s a shame that VC 3 was VASTLY superior than VC 2 in almost every way possible….

    • Luna Kazemaru

Yes because its only segas fault -_-

      • Zeromus321

Never said it was only their fault….. Was just relaying that they had publishing rights to Valkryia chronicles so they did play a large part in it not coming over to the west. Of course there are many other factors, such as how well the previous entries in the series sold in the west and just how much it would cost localize and so on….. But if I had said all that it would have been an overly long comment like this one has turned into……. -_-

      • Ryos

Actually it kind of is.  Numerous companies purportedly approached Sega offering to localize it but Sega scoffed said offers in hopes of unrealistic licensing scenarios.

        • Luna Kazemaru

I wouldn’t want to give up my IP aswell if I knew the game would barely get support just because of what system it was on so no its not just ther fault

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Tianyu-Wei/100000304118353 Tianyu Wei

dont’ see the point of this artbook when the game isn’t out in the West… This needs a big SPOILER warning when it’s on the book shelf or you gonna get Angry fans…

I luckily know Japanese and played the JP version already lol…

  • Luna Kazemaru

    All ready on my list

    • ShawnOtakuSomething

      Ditto

  • Farid Belkacemi

Are they planning to publish the Type-0 artbook ? I want it so badly :(

  • http://www.segalization.com/ Kuronoa

It’s a tough sell when it is an import only game it is based on.  If much of the story is in it I guess it is like buying a novel sequel.

  • ShawnOtakuSomething

    <333 want

  • Godmars

Hasn’t this been out for a while? On Amazon?

    • Luna Kazemaru

      The Japanese version has

  • Kevadu

I finally gave up hoping for a localization of this game and imported it.  And boy am I glad I did.  Probably my favorite game in the series.

    • Shiki

I’ve done the same thing , and the game is incredible!

  • http://epiclyamazing.wordpress.com/ AzureNova

Wow! I’ve never even played Valkyria Chronicles 3, but I want this book because the artwork is extremely beautiful! =^_^=

    • PoweredByHentai

You should play VC3.  It is pretty much the best game in the series.

        *ahem*Language barrier*ahem*

  • Laith Rem

    Artbook Want!!!!

I recommend importing the game. Gameplay is awesome and the story is not hard to follow.

There is an english patch being worked on for both versions and its in editing stages.

  • Grenalie

There’s a fan translation in the works so I’ll wait on that before buying this.

    • Zeromus321

      WHAT!? (immediately heads to Google).

  • TheFoolArcana

WHY MUST THEY TORMENT ME SO?

  • Lightthrower

That is such a tease… or a hint for future digital release? One can only hope :-D

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Atem-Yugioh-Elbotamy/9347791 Adam Elbahtimy

I didn’t even realize that there were sequels to this game. It’s a shame they didn’t follow up with another ps3 title, or maybe go multiplatform, as I remember the original being the coolest thing Sega has done in forever.

    • Visa Vang

Yeah. It was revolutionary. Its gameplay is original and unique so, it was quite popular. Don’t know why it wasn’t continued on the PS3.

      • Luna Kazemaru

        Because of sales

      • fds_nextdart

Because as amazing as it was, it costed a lot to produce and sold like crap. On the other hand, a reduced version for the PSP seemed more profitable. Then again, people are morons and they either pirated the game or didn’t buy it altogether and thus, VC2 sold like crap too~.

Given those two flops sales-wise, Sega just skipped bringing VC3 to the West. Watching this book scans is like throwing salt on the wound though for those of us who actually bought both games~.

  • z_merquise

    Dang! Those artworks!

If only my local comic shop also sell art books, sigh.

  • http://twitter.com/RefueledPants Jordan Slovsaki

I thought I was so clever when I imported the Japanese artbook for a hefty price. Oh well, the game is getting fan translated and just getting this book in English when the game will most likely never officially arrive here is worth the extra dough. When Sega dropped the ball, others rose to pick up the slack. I should mention its a damn fine book, plenty of superb art on show, defiantly worth the asking price.

  • idofgrahf

I guess the artwork will be out in time for the fan translation of Valkyria 3 to be completed.

  • Oltheros

Wow…good on ya, Udon. They don’t let me down.

Luckily VC3 is getting fan translated too, so all is right with the world.

  • http://www.facebook.com/magius.necros Magius Necros

Japan only game due to sales or whatever.

    Release artbook overseas.

    Brilliant.

    • Luna Kazemaru

They did it with the shinng force artbook so it not unheard of

  • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

Yuhuuu, My wait is paid here.^_^ While others maybe are looking for Riella or Imca there, i will said my main target here is one and only…… Carisa!!!!^_^ Just like how i bought the first one for Isara there lol.^_^

  • Nitraion

Wow.. weirdess localization plan ever… sega assume all of us playing japanese version? ==”
I want HD remastered version of this game….

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jonathan-Ingram/100002032335254 Jonathan Ingram

Sorry, not supporting a franchise that’s likely dead here.

    • Luna Kazemaru

      Oh the irony

      • Glenn De Boer

Actually NO that’s not Irony..Why would you bother releasing an Artbook of a game that’s never been released here. Nobody would buy it other then the Import crowd You’d have to consider that some people don’t import or download their games just to support the franchise and company. Sega however scoffed at any oppertunity to localize VC3 and then Udon wants to release an artbook of it…Which makes no sense. Also have you seen what Sega was planning in Europe? Only giving a select few games Physical releases while most other games get ignored or Digital distribution and delaying the release from Anarchy Reigns to 2013 while that was all dubbed and translated.

        • Luna Kazemaru

Because isn’t been done before by udon shinning force doing the same thing and if I remember if they want to begin it over there is no issue there, Yes it is irony for the fact that he not supporting a dead franchise that didn’t get must support to begin with but just alot of ‘loud’ fans that are mad 3 hasn’t come. Yet are sure quick to blame it only on sega when that’s not the case. I don’t know what DD had to do with VC or anything in my reply or his but please keep that hate to yourself I don’t have to for that BS

  • Phil Noctis Cier

Ok?? Seriously..what are they thinking? For once..can game developers in Japan stop being so skeptical about sales outside Japan and just release the damn games, instead of holding back rest of a franchise. “We are to afraid to take the risk with the third installment, so we give the fans a complete artwork book instead”

    • Luna Kazemaru

       last I’m I checked udon isn’t sega.

    • TokinTokins

Well seeing how the VC1 & 2 didn’t sell well here i’m not all that surprised but still I would have loved to see VC3 be localized in the west.

  • Mazdian

UDOOON! You loveable rogue! Always the hero, getting artbooks to us!

  • http://amc9988.deviantart.com/ amc99

    GRAHHHHHH IM GONNA GETTHIS!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • http://twitter.com/Phenie Phenie

Very strange to see localizations like this, without even the game being localized. I don’t know whether to be happy or sad for fans of the game.

  • http://twitter.com/Neilikki Neilikki

This art looks delicious, I need this.

    But still, SEGA where the hell is my game? :_;

Okay, fine, I’ll just keep learning Japanese…

  • Nope Nope

Just as a FYI there is a translation project going on.

  • SierraM363

I’ll pay $100 if it comes with a localized translation of VC3.
