Grab Art Academy: First Semester For Free Off Club Nintendo

Art Academy: Lessons for Everyone! on the Nintendo 3DS will be released in North America in October, but if you aren’t up to dropping cash on that game, you can still try another Art Academy title out for free, provided you have a U.S. Club Nintendo account.

This week’s new Nintendo 3DS reward on Club Nintendo is Art Academy: First Semester for DSiWare. The app contains six lessons to teach the user about painting, and is the first of the two Art Academy DSiWare games that were later compiled, along with extra lessons and other content, into a retail release for the Nintendo DS.

Art Academy: First Semester normally costs 800 DSiWare Points ($7.99), but you can pick it up via Club Nintendo for 150 coins until September 23rd.

This looks cool.  It appeals to art majors like myself or anyone looking to pick up a new skill and hobby.  Giving away the first semester for free allows newcomers to test the waters, really get into it and all you basically need are the basics.  From then on, it’s mostly up to the artist.  Drawing is one of the most simplest and easiest ways to let your imagination run wild.  Thumbs up, Nintendo.
