Pokémon Colosseum developer, Genius Sonority, released an original Nintendo eShop RPG in Japan, titled Denpa Ningen no RPG. This game has now been officially confirmed for a U.S. release, and Genius will be publishing it themselves under the title The Denpa Men: They Came By Wave.

Directed by former Dragon Quest programmer, Manabu Yamana, who is also Genius Sonority’s president, The Denpa Men uses the Nintendo 3DS’ augmented reality feature to make you look around your surroundings for Denpa Men that you can recruit as party members. Then, it’s off to explore dungeons and fight a demon king.

Genius Sonority say that different kinds of Denpa Men are location-specific, and have a great number of variations in their faces, bodies, personalities and skills.

The Denpa Men: They Came By Wave will be released on September 27th for $9.99 in North America. You can watch a trailer for the game above. In Japan, a sequel to the game will be released on September 26th.

  • I am so amazingly excited for this. I was so afraid this would just slip under the radar and get passed over for localization all together. I’ll be setting aside my 7 bucks for this!

  • YES! I so want this game. It looks absolutely incredible and I 100% will buy it.

    I was actually thinking of buying the Japanese one before this was announced for localization… glad I didn’t ^.^

    Also Off topic, why is the bayonetta comment section closed? Was there a lot of outrageous behavior?

    • Herok♞

       The section was closed because there would have been no mods available to monitor it at the time it was posted.

        I just knew the bruhaha this has caused around the web, and thought it may have spread here…O.o;;

  • I’ll give it a chance.
    They remind me of a mix between Katamari cousins and Elebits. lol  The dungeon crawling at first looks like Mystery Dungeon but random encounters then?  Okay that’s fine.

  • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

  • I really want this game, hope it comes to Europe too. Has anyone here played it? It must be good, because they’ve announced a sequel in Japan, but I’d like to know more about the game like: how long is it, is it easy and things like that :3

  • Barrylocke89

    Not bad for 7 bucks. When I get a 3DS and I’m in needed of something lighter on my wallet, I may take a look at this.
