  • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

Uukh so no news on Ni-Oh still?T_T

  • Raze

Almost misread it as Suikoden lol….
What kind of game is this?
    Almost like Dynasty Warrior?

  • Uhhhhhh….
    What is this game about? ( 0 o 0? )/

  • Wht IS this?? I’m curious!!!!

Sooo any bets on what kind of “Warriors” there will be this time? The thirty year war? American Civil War? Some OTHER time period except the Sengoku period-war? The possibilities are endless!

    •  Nah, I read from somewhere and it said japanese feudal and female lead-role.

      • Göran Isacson

… And now I feel silly for not even considering the possibility that it would NOT be a Warriors-type game. Guess I should have remembered what happens when you assume! Still, female lead role sound pretty cool, don’t see too many of those in hack and slash games.

I would be overjoyed by a Musou game set in the Thirty Years War, that would be absolutely gorgeous considering the political and religious tensions behind that war and the sheer amount of interesting historical characters you could rewrite into over-the-top Musou generals (some non-canon Ferdinand II vs Gustav II Adolf duel would be awesome) XD Then again, it isn’t a well known war even in Europe, and I imagine it would completely tank everywhere.

So far we have had China’s Three Kingdoms age, Japan’s Sengoku period, the Hundred Years War in Bladestorm and the war of Troy in the Canadian spin-off, I would love to see some new wars portrayed by our dear Koei.

Back to Toukiden, this isn’t even a Musou game apparently, looks more like an action demon-slaying title set in feudal Japan.

Ha ha yes, I am quite in love with the concept of taking historical figures and turning them into over the top superheroes. I mean, can you imagine Wizard Richeliue, like what they’ve done to Zhuge Liang in the Dynasty Warriors games? I can, and it’s delicious. And as a Swede I gotta say I wouldn’t mind me some dual sword wielding Gustav II Adolf riding around on a lion and beating up Catholics… because, you know, why NOT have him ride around on lions? But yes, alas, it’s too unknown and wouldn’t sell well enough to justify it. My dream of a Warriors game for every significant era and war in the history of the world remains but a dream.

Demon-slaying game is decent enough though, I suppose… but not QUITE as awesome as historical figures turned super heroes.

      World War 2??

Oh my GOD if that happens what will Gen. MacArthur look like????

      • Göran Isacson

Oh man I didn’t even think about that one. Like, I think it might be too recent and perhaps people will be a little bit iffy on having a war which is still such an open sore in the modern world (like, ask the Japanese how they feel about Pearl Harbor or Unit 731…), but I can’t deny it WOULD be kind of amazing. They would probably make MacArthur into some kind of villanous type (Omega Force are Japanese after all), and like… have Rommel WEAR a tank as armor, maybe have Churchill be some portly ranged attacker… so many possibilities, man. SO MANY.

I just hope it’s NOT a Musou-style game. I love DW Next, but if I wanted a Musou game on Vita… well, I have Next.
