Dance? With no western release date yet, this news is not even worth waiving the hands in the air. lol

      • ronin4life

        I will import!
Screw the fact that I can’t effectively read Japanese and can hardly speak it!!0[]0/ I-MUST-AH-HAV-AH!!

        • andref

Well make sure you have a japanese 3DS then since the games are region locked

          • ronin4life

            I do! ^o^/
Got the Flare red/MH3G bundle earlier this year. WOO!! 0[]0//

      • XypherCode

Obviously Capcom USA wants to focus on Ultimate first. And besides, MonHun 4 was announced only months after 3G was released in Japan. So there’s still hope yet after Ultimate is released in the west.

        • Domii

Look at Samurai_Heart’s comment above. ^^^

          • XypherCode

            Still you never know. :)

      • Read between the lines! The fact that this has online at all means they’re thinking of us in the long term. You think Japan cares about this feature? :P

    • Samurai_Heart

*Slowly stops… to realise that when Japan gets Monster Hunter 4, we only just gotten Monster Tri G and Ultimate*
*Knows that it’ll take a while for MH4 to be released outside of Japan*
*Sits in a corner contemplating this predicament*
XD, you know this is true =p

  • Hinataharem

    Step in the right direction.

  • konsama

Wow an actual improvement from the past MH’s, now the only thing is if it will get localized and if it they won’t have us with BS answers for almost a year.

  • ZEROthefirst

Oh Bamco you better release GE2 early February, late January or there are going to be few sales on that game and no helping the Vita again.

  • PreyMantis

If MH games in Japan don’t really need online, why would Capcom add it? I’m pretty confident that this is a sign that it will be localized here.

    • aoihana

I don’t think there was ever any doubt in Capcom bringing over Monster Hunter. It’s just a matter of time! But yes, online multiplayer pretty much solidifies Monster Hunter 4’s localization. (◕‿◕✿)

      • ShawnOtakuSomething

        I give it a a year

  • Shiki

    Haha , I think .. that’s a confirmation for a localization ? ” SAVING MONEY ‘TILL THEN ”
LOL , now I can play MH3U without being anxious! X)

  • kylehyde

Theres not doubt, we have to survive the 2012, because the 2013 is going to be amazing, this game, ace attorney 5, SMT IV,, fire emblem, the man of steel (yeah I know that this doesn’t fit on the list, but is going to be amazing) and many more.

  • aoihana

I didn’t think they’d be able to pull off online multiplayer on the 3DS, so this comes as a great surprise! (>y<)

Japan doesn’t need online multiplayer to have a thriving community, but local multiplayer in the United States is a bit inconvenient to say the least. So, Monster Hunter 4 having online multiplayer, along with its huge base, is damn exciting! (*≧m≦*)

  • ShawnOtakuSomething

I’m sure we will get 4 in the states if 3G and
     MH3U sells well  :3

  • Kamion

I might actually get a Monster Hunter game. I don’t know if I will like it, though. Never liked one of its clones…

    •  Clones tend to always be inferior to the original. Monster Hunter really is a different beast compared to its clones.

    • Xerain

I think it’s easier to go into MH with some caveats. The tutorial is reeally long. Then you think you’re done with the tutorial, and playing the actual game, and that it sucks because all it is is hunting and gathering… and then finally you get your first boss battle. Well that’s wrong. That first boss battle you worked so hard to be able to complete is actually the game’s first real normal enemy.

I love MH, but without the motivation of having friends who were playing it and loving it before me, I wouldn’t have stuck around long enough to realize I love it too. I think that’s part of the reason for it’s success in Japan. Everyone knows someone who has it, and the (positive) peer pressure to play it helps them stick around long enough to really get into it.

Also if you’re gonna try the PSP version you’re gonna need to use the “claw” grip for manual camera control. Anyone I know who played it while trying to rely on the camera auto centering ended up quitting…

I’ve found those are the two biggest hurdles for people, especially westerners, from getting into MH. Perhaps being cognizant of them will make your experience more enjoyable. Compared to other games, it’s very hard to get into MH on accident. However once you go through the rites of passage you’ll find the game is amazing battle after amazing battle…

    • Peace Legacy

The key to monster hunter enjoyment is that you need to have a friend you can play with, someone you can both compete and hunt together
A friendly rival, if you may
…also, a fetish for catch ’em all genre

  • Go2hell66

to think it took capcom this long to implement an online multiplayer feature…

well at least they got it done.

  • Karibito

It’s a great time to be a monhan fan!

  • Barrylocke89

New Monster Hunter, on the system that I want to get, with online multiplayer.

Now we just need to hear “and it’s coming out to the West too!” and it’ll all be perfect.

And as Ishaan pointed out below, online play is more of a benefit to western players than eastern, so hopefully they’re thinking of us too.

    • Best thing is that while japanese will be getting Monster Hunter 4 you at the same time will be getting Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate.

      • Barrylocke89

I’m not sure if that’s the best thing, at least not for me personally. I don’t really desire a Wii U at the moment, and that’s the only version of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate that has online play.

That’s why I’m happy about Monster Hunter 4 on the 3ds also having this mode: it means that if it comes to America, I can play online with a system that I want.

        • I understand. Frankly I want a PS Vita monster hunter. I’ve played every single monster hunter since the playstation 2 game and every psp game to importing the japanese ones. I don’t want a nintendo 3ds or a Wii U. I’m disappointed on the 3ds XL not having the second joystick and again having to buy an extra accessory just to buy mh the way I always dreamt of playing it. It would run great on the PS Vita but its now turned completely nintendo.

When Monster Hunter Tri came out I bought a Wii just for it. Monster Hunter Tri and Xenoblade are pretty much the only Wii games I own. I wasn’t interested on the Wii U but the instant I heard MH3 U is coming out for it now I’ll buy it just for that game.

  • Can capcom drive the nails into the vita any more? The psp was so good to them too. Such betrayal.

    •  Betrayal? Capcom runs on money, Nintendo is paying Capcom to work on a game for their system, simple as. Sony is partly to blame for the lack of a MH game on the Vita. Sure, the lackluster sales don’t make it an enticing platform for publishers to work on games for, but perhaps if Sony pushed it out on Capcom or even paid for a new exclusive MH game, you’d see one on the vita.
