Namco Bandai are going to release another Macross game next year. Titled Macross 30, the game is slated for release sometime in 2013, Namco announced at a Tokyo Game Show stage event, reported by 4Gamer.

Details are scarce, but Namco did share that the game’s theme song will be sung by the winner of the 2012 “Miss Macross 30” musical competition, Haruka Chisuga.

  • That is cool how the theme is Miss Macross. I hope this is a stand alone game and not a hybrid pack in.

Looks like its set in Frontier’s timeline

Don’t exactly know that for sure.
For all we know, they could just be using Sheryl and Ranka as Frontier’s recent and fresh in people’s minds.

  • Excellente news :3 ! Also, there were no Macross FB7 by the way :o ?

Does anyone have a good video of Nakajima Megumi holding a mini concert at the TGS Macross stage show? The only video I found is pretty lousy.

  • Göran Isacson

Sheryl Nome and Ranka Lee, yet the name is Macross 30… wonder if it will be tied to Frontier, or if it will be something entirely it’s own and those two are just there to build hype?

  • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

Hmm while still Sheryl and Ranka there? Is this a side story from Macross Frontier? Or continuation from the movie lol.^_^

    • Mr_SP

Well, Macross Frontier was Macross-Class ship #25. There’s no reason they can’t be there, but the suggestion is that this is a different vessel.

      • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

Well new ships but with old singer is kinda…. i know that Minmay actually stays on two different ships there.(One on the TV animation and one of Movie.)

I hope this one will at least explain what happens in the end of the movie here. It actually end in semi cliff hanger there.T_T

So this is yet another macross game that we occidentals will need to look from outside and cry, right?
