Nintendo’s U.K. division have confirmed to Eurogamer that, like the Nintendo 3DS, the Wii U will be region-locked.   This means that the system will only be able to play games from the region you bought it in, and that a Wii U purchased in the U.S. will not be able to play games that have not been made available in North America.
