By Ishaan . September 27, 2012 . 8:30am

Sega have shared a promotional video for Sonic Adventure 2, which will be available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation next week, alongside NiGHTS into Dreams. The trailer, which plays to a song you may recognize, can be viewed below:

Sonic Adventure 2 and NiGHTS into Dreams will be available on October 2nd for the PlayStation Network and on October 5th for Xbox Live Arcade in North America. Both games will cost $9.99.

Additionally, as previously reported, Sega will release Battle Mode DLC for Sonic Adventure 2 for $3. Battle Mode will include more maps and characters from the GameCube version of Sonic Adventure 2.

I just want to see some Chao Garden footage but im very excited for this. It looks great.

    • Xekyo

lol i was waiting for it too.  There’s like 5 seconds of a chaos battle if you watch it through.

      • Punny Fuzz

My question is how do we get access to gba exclusive chaos in this version?

        • British_Otaku

Another reason why you should take good care of your GBA and GameCube probably… It is hardly the first port or rerelease to be missing features due to some sort of exclusivity (GBA connection wasn’t that rare in the PS2 days even for minor things) or something…

  • Zonic505

Totally forgot those were coming out next week. Cannot wait to play them.

  • Xekyo

I was hoping to hear another song.  “Running around at the speed of sound!”.  Favorite. :D

  • Spirit Macardi

The only improvement I saw over the GC version is that Metal Sonic looks a bit more shiney. They could have at least fixed the awkward lip-synching.

    •  without the weird lip-synching it woudnt be SA2 you know?
the real question here is if it will came with the “in game themes” and the option for Japanese voices. i really hope it does.

  • SirRichard

I love that they play it for the whole trailer and no other audio for the game, it really just amped up that nostalgia rush.

It’s been years since I last properly had a go with this game, can’t wait to ignore the main game in favour of obsessively taking care of Chao again.

  • TheRealMalek

Will this version be bug ridden ? My guess is not…

I loved the game on dreamcast but i wasn’t able to finish it (last level) due to robotnik falling through the floor <_<

  • Xmas Lopez

I have some great memories of raising Chaos. I can’t wait to buy this and get back to Chao breeding

  •  MAN this was a bug for the collector edition of the game. i remember that… i had the same problem but i was able to (1 of 343240239840329483 Trys) to fly before he falls and get to a plataform and finish that stage.

“Sonic Adventure 2 Video Promo Might Bring Back Some Memories”

    *Sees Shadow* Yup, bad ones….

  • This game is really the best sonic game ever. even with all those bugs and stuffs. i really hope it comes with in game themes and japanese voices.

  • 3 words.

Yes, I dared to break it up.

  • Trotmeister

Best Sonic game ever. Awesome levels, epic story. Heck, even Shadow turned out to be pretty cool.

  • British_Otaku

Paying for the content which is avaliable on the GameCube version by default huh? I wonder why so few of these digital rereleases (well I guess ports do this sometimes) manage to get all of the content which was done ages ago, at least the content which has no issues due to not being able to connect to a GBA or take saves from a certain game (though they could bypass that).

  • キロ

    I really liked this game, and still do! When you remember it as Sonic’s possibly last adventure because of the circumstances at the time, it really makes the ending so much heavier ;_; but that’s just me ^^;

  • RedShadoww

Wierd how I was humming to Live and Learn and then i found this article….

  • Wafflenaut

This is what you wanted, right? This is Sega’s promise they made to you.

  • Shadowman

Only thing that game is screaming to me is “CHILDHOOD MEMORIES RETURNS!!!!”

  • Gyro Zeppeli

Would’ve been nice if they included online play for the versus mode.

  • Ryudo9

Looks like they are again using the Gamecube port

  • Hey I thought the games was coming to Steam as well since Adventure one is in there. I look forward to it and buy a few copies on Steam.

  • ZEROthefirst

I hope this is a port to he Dreamcast version so I can use the full chao gardens again, instead of the smaller ones in the Gamecube version.

  • This was one of my first Gamecube Games and I’m glad I can play it again.

  • Kefkiroth

Such a big nostalgia overload… can’t wait to pick this up.

  • Anime10121

This game, that song, so perfect!  This is the game that convinced me 3D Sonic could be good.  I’ve missed this game :D

  • Some1onearth

3D Sonic was pretty much what I grew up with, mostly with just this game and the first one that was playable on the dreamcasts at Sega World…wish that was still around. T_T

  • Solomon_Kano

Really can’t wait to play this again. Played it all the time on my cousin’s Dreamcast and then I played it some more on my friend’s Gamecube. So many memories.

  • Zero Shift

I remember crying and begging my parents to get me a Dreamcast for my birthday solely for this game. I never got a Dreamcast, but luckily this game was ported over to Gamecube and I got my chance to play it then. Absolutely love this game, the music, gameplay, and was just overall fun. Can’t wait to pick this up next week!

  • CirnoLakes

    What, no Steam?

Don’t drop the ball on me, SEGA!

(Hey, this doesn’t count as requesting a system, does it?)
Seriously, though, SEGA has a good recent history of putting stuff on Steam. They’ve been doing the PC for a while now. But are just now recently actually doing it well.

I hope it is coming out for PC/Steam and Siliconera just accidentally left it out.

    • AnimeRemix

I’m sure Sonic Adventure 2 is coming to PC. It wouldn’t make any sense at all for SEGA to release Sonic Adventure, Sonic Generations and even Jet Set Radio on PC, but not Sonic Adventure 2. I wouldn’t be surprised if SEGA is holding out on announcing it (Just like they did for Generations PC.)

ESRB says “Platform: Windows PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360″

  • this is going to be so amazing. this is my absolute favorite sonic game and i cannot wait to play it again.

  • ndjn3979

Looks dated…should have played it when I had a Dreamcast. =(

  • Chao Gardens are still heading over, too, right? Guess I’ll have to revamp my website just in case.
