Spend $100 On PlayStation Network In October, Get $20 Back

By Ishaan . October 1, 2012 . 12:30pm

Sony are running a special promotion on the PlayStation Network this month, where, if you spend $100 on PSN downloads, you’ll get $20 back as store credit that you can use to buy other things.

Note that the $20 credit is only given back for the first $100 you spend on PSN, so spending $200 doesn’t mean you’ll get $40 back. Full details can be found here.

Much like a lot of other people, I just spent a lot of money last week with all the good new releases.  One Piece, MvC Origins, Tokyo Jungle, Final Fantasy III PSP…  Might have waited a week had I known this!

Still, I don’t think I’ll have too much trouble finding another $100 worth of PSN purchases this month.  Starting tomorrow with the PSN-only US release of New Little King’s Story ($39.99).

    • Ravage27

Thanks for the reminder, will pick up LKS once it hits the store. Looks like i’ll hit the $100 mark in no time :p

  • Hatsuaki

100$ is a lot. I don’t think I’ve ever spent that much money on PSN EVER.

    •  I spent $49 on One Piece only, not all that hard.

    • PoweredByHentai

I have.  Atlus and NIS America half-off sales.

  • Alex Sargeant

Virtue’s Last Reward. Ragnarok Odyssey and New Little King Story then?

    •  Hahaha i was gonna type just that :) !

    •  those game going to be in psn this month?

      • New Little King Story hits tuesday

    • Kitestwinblades

Vita support month, GO! XD  Sonic and Nights come out pretty soon as well.

  • Crevox

Am I the only one that sees the greedy marketing in this?

  • Alphabet Soup

OK, I have a brilliant plan.

    1: Purchase PS3 or Vita
    2: Spend $100 on PSN
    3: GET TWENTY FREE DOLLARS-oh wait a minute…something’s not right here…

^_^ at any rate, for those that were planning to spend a fair amount this month on PSN anyway, it’s not a bad deal.

  • drproton

Sounds like a good time to renew my PS+ subscription.

    • Aoshi00

Does renewing PS+ subscription count?  I don’t have that much to spend on either, don’t want to buy full games digitally if I don’t have to.. so maybe another year of PS+, Tokyo Jungle, can’t think of something else… alrdy imported Dokuro too..

      • Mister_Nep

This question was asked on the PS Blog, and they responded that plus counts. In fact, purchasing anything on the store counts. Including the video section of PSN.

Although it has to be  a PURCHASE. Putting $100 in the PSN wallet doesn’t count.

        • Aoshi00

Thanks for clearing that up.  That’s great it’s not limited to game purchase.. But I could fill up my PSN wallet w/ 2 $50 cards first and then spend them right? I’ll have to see if I could really spend another $50 after PS+. Glad they got rid of the sales tax now.

They have the PSN card that gives you $50 and a year of PS+, but I’m not sure if I want to get another credit card…

  • LustEnvy

    Buy two full games.
Buy One Full game, DLC pack, PSN Title.
    Etc, etc.

Not impossible. I mean, I’d rather not, but it’s doable.

  • eilegz

now if sony restock psn card code for best buy…

  • Helepythia

Hell, I just went and spent 50 dollars a week ago on PSN! If only I waited a week later…

  • I don’t have $100 worth of games I want… Really good deal though!

  • Nemesis_Dawn

Hey, don’t both Okami HD and Guilty Gear Accent Core Plus come out this month?

  • Mister_Nep

There was a small blurb about this on the newsletter of the playstation store update last week so I purposely held of on major purchases until this week. I’ll already be hitting $55 this week with Doom 3, Sonic Adventure 2, and Nights. I’m sure I can grab $45 worth of more stuff in the next 3 weeks.

If not, Way of the Samurai 4 and some DLC will fit the bill for sure.

  • ZzInyakizz Luzano

Nice I now i can save more money

  • Learii
