Ohh. Team Ninja is being generous here.^_^ Now, more swim suits costume DLC? For Kokoro especially there.^_^

  • Im having a blast with this game, the game play is really solid, its the first DOA that I actually liked.

    • Anime10121

WHAT! You didnt like 2 Hardcore?  That is by far my favorite of the entire series, then 5, then 3, and 4 (never played 1)!

      • I thought they were all crap up to this one :( (and yes I’ve played them)

        • Anime10121

Well barring 2 and 5, I can pretty much agree (when I said 3 and 4, I was just putting them there because I had to place them since I played them).  But 2 and 5 were awesome to me, 2 and its tag team matches were a blast!  5 is just great all around too, but hey, I can understand though, they were pretty much crap to me too, barring Dead or Alive 2 Hardcore (which again, I loved with a passion)!

          • David García Abril

4 is superior to the previous 3.

            Not an opinion.

          • Anime10121

If you say so, I still think 3 and 4 were crap to me.

  • Loving Kokoro’s fisher dress, hard working women are hawt~

  • Anime10121

Now see this Capcom (multiple fighters), Namco (Tales of), and Square (even though Square released 1 costume for XIII-2 for free), THIS is how you do costume DLC!  Even if the next “round” of costumes for everyone costs money, they gave out costumes for about half the characters for FREE not 4 bucks absofrekinlutely FREE!

    • Yeah don’t get too happy, these “free” costumes were without a doubt already part of the original budget of the game, especially seeing how they are mostly just rehashes of older outfits.

If something costs X amount of money to make that is X amount over the budget, you can be damn sure companies will ask X amount of money for it; it’s business and gamers should stop expecting hand-me-outs for stuff people work their asses off for.

      • Anime10121

But even if they were part of the original budget of the game, they were released to the public for FREE, so it doesn’t really matter.  I’d much rather have DLC where its part of the original budget, and released a little later, thats free, than have DLC released that’s part of the original budget with a FEE.

        • Sure, but you can impossibly know how budgets are allocated; even if dlc is already on the disc, games have deadlines and milestones that much be reached MONTHS before the master copy goes gold.

So just assuming some dlc was part of the original budget and should be given to you for free is just as bad and just another slap in the face of hard working devs.

          • Nitraion

            Yeah but think like this…
they know this is already in plan but somehow they have to hold it..
now its ready they released it to the public just as planned for free or you can feel it like delay for your pizza….

          • I won’t think like that because that is the very assumption I mentioned, and it’s a dangerous one to make.
Like I said there is literally no way for consumers to know whether something was planned -and- part of the original budget, “and” because if you believe no DLC is planned from the start you are delusional; if the game doesn’t include support for dlc from the very start, it won’t be able to support it after release.

So yes, some might hold certain budgeted content back, but in the same vein others won’t; we can’t know and assuming otherwise is just destructive behavior.

          • Nitraion

@twitter-222668697:disqus hmm i see… so you worried company make “delusional” free DLC to make good words for their company….well marketing strategy these days…
hmm i can’t figure that is bad or not but as long their move doesn’t make consumer loss i don’t really mind gotta respect some strategy…
as for me “FREE” is always good words for me… :p

  • The “Free” part is amazing!  I was expecting to pay for these.  I just wonder why the alien suit for Zack wasn’t unlockable in the first place.  I’m not complaining, I just thought it was a given costume for Zack.  They came out pretty fast too, why were they not on disc?  The costumes look great, I’m glad there are more to come!

  • Crimson_Cloud

I bow with high respect on this. Bravo.

  • kylehyde

Yay, Kokoro’s fisher dress is my lucky charm (for some reason I get better results meanwhile she’s is wearing that dress).

  • Free?

  • Tee Niitris

I hope the others get free costumes too.

And bring back Hitomi’s denim jacket please.

  • Glowing, silver Zack-thing. YES!

    • venomryu

that his shadowman outfit base off the game with the same name

  • Nitraion

    Ow boy O_o
Hope stays free forever lol XD
keep it coming since i don’t my own copy yet…

    • Rick R

You can still download it now, that way when you have the game in the future you can just redownload it as it’s already purchased.

      • Nitraion

        That… doesn’t matter actually..
you mean i should have digital release?
the problem is i am broke right now besides i prefer BD version than digital..

        • Hinataharem

No, he mean download the DLC now.

        • Rick R

No, as Hinataharem said I’m saying to download the DLC now. That way when you get the game down the line if they start charging for it it’s already in your purchase history, so you already “own” the dlc.

          • Nitraion

Oh i see… XD i still dunno what region i want to buy….
in here reg 2 EU is chepeer than US and asia version (I in asia weird no? XD)
so any idea the DLC cross region because EU version PSN card is more expensive than US and ASIA version lol XD

  • Budgiecat

Their boobs are too big XD

    • Jesse Thompson

“Their boobs are not big enough XD” – Fixed!

      • TohnoHo

        lol nice one

    • Dude! Effin re-seriously? xD

  • Someone count the number of costumes in this game. Any records broken?

    • Anime10121

This game actually has the smallest amount of costumes per character for a DOA game.  DOA is known for LOTS of costumes in the games :).

      • David García Abril

Actually, this is the third game with more costumes per character, only behind the first DOA and DOAU, and roughly the same level as “Dimensions”.

Meaning, it has more than DOA2, 3 and 4.

And yes, that NOT counting DLC. :)

        • Anime10121

Really? I could of sworn 2 had more, and 3 too. But considering i haven’t played either in years, I’ll take your word for it.

  • Michael Cadogan

Chrome Teletubbie Zack costume for free? Hell yea.

  • Demeanor

I gave in to the Devil’s temptation and ordered this game yesterday, excites me (lol) way more than TTT2, it’s more my cup of tea. :P
Can’t wait for it to arrive, now, I wonder exactly which oriental chick will be my main… XD

  • Abhishek Posooa

    Looking smexy :D
I hope that there will be neko costumes for the next dlc :3

  • KyoyaHibari

Can’t believe people were complaining about the costumes and didn’t see this coming. I totally did.

  • Angeru_Lito

See Capcom? is not hard give something away for your fans and they’ll pay you back it’s just costumes do you really need to charge forall of them?

  • Fitzkrieg

    Dat Christie.

    • Darkrise

      Christie forever. *salutes*

  • BringTheFate

Oh my god, Zack. I was hoping he’d get this one. Bayman doesn’t look half-bad with his old outfit, either. Shame I don’t use him. Helena’s new outfit might be the main one I use for her now, and Mila’s…would work better for me if not for the tie at the bottom of her red top. Now if only they’ll give me a boyshort swimsuit for Eliot, I’ll be set.

    • z_merquise

Mila’s…would work better for me if not for the tie at the bottom of her red top

Well, Mila’s costume is based on Tina in DOA 1:

      • BringTheFate

I know, I’m just not the biggest Tina fan, either. It makes sense with Mila’s obsession with Bass, but I’d still rather them keep the most non-sexualized girl in DOA away from turning into another Tina.

  • Göran Isacson

Zack is a chrome teletubby, everything is glorious. Yeah, nice to see them go back to old costumes and give them a little touch up.

  • They look gorgeous and they’re free? GODDAMN IT! If I had a system to play this game I’d buy it guaranteed!

  • Hinataharem

Zack in Cyber Tingle outfit gogogogogogo

  • FelixJRPG

Does anyone know if the DLC (North America one) is compatible with the asian version of the game?

  • Hector Velar

Has anyone even bothered to thank Team Ninja?  Thank you guys, we appreciate it, you have my support!  keep them coming.

  • neo_firenze

Let’s not go TOO crazy just yet praising Team Ninja for being awesome for having free DLC… it’s far too soon to forget the absurd DLC prices from their last release – Ninja Gaiden 3.  I have some hope they’ve seen the error of their ways after the NG3 fiasco and this is the first step toward a new and improved vision.  But one good decision is not yet a pattern (we don’t even know if the next batch of DOA5 DLC will be rage inducing), and they haven’t completely earned my trust back yet.

Here’s hoping they’re back on the right track though.  This is a good step, as is the news I’ve seen of NG3 Razor’s Edge (looks like a really great reworking to make the game what it should be, and I’m totally getting it with my launch day WiiU).
