Fire Emblem: Awakening Headed To Europe In Q2 2013

By Ishaan . October 4, 2012 . 11:06am

Nintendo of Europe have announced via a Nintendo Direct presentation that Fire Emblem: Awakening for the Nintendo 3DS will be available in European regions sometime in the second quarter of 2013.

No further details have been announced yet, but we know that North America will get the game sometime in 2013 as well.

    cool next is U.S.

Huh.  I wonder what the marketing logic behind this announcement timing is?  This isn’t an early announcement, the game has been out for quite awhile in Japan and doubtless localization work has been churning along for some time.  On the other hand, it’s not like they waited to do a large scale blowout reveal either.  Sometimes a company will wait until they can set a specific launch date and show off a trailer before announcing anything.

Seriously though, I would be curious to know what the logic behind this timing is.  But I’m an economics/marketing major, so that’s kinda my angle on everything :)

If you asked me here, i think this move is more for attracting some gamers who actually haven’t got their 3DS there.

Even though they don’t have any trailer, any announcement for a game that many srpg fans loved to play will surely attract some of them to go and buy 3DS.

Not to mention with a list of games coming, some of the potential buyers could actually buy them on the upcoming holiday to prepare for this game.^_^

    Delayed again *snaps fingers*

Ah well, yay Fire Emblem news.

    • Hraesvelgr

Delayed again? It never had a release date in the first place. In fact, it technically still doesn’t have a release date.

      • KHSoraKeyBlade

Originally it was announced for 2012 in Europe (back when Nintendo America wouldn’t even announce the thing) but at the last Nintendo Direct they said that it (along with Animal Crossing) would be delayed until the first quarter of 2013 to make sure the game’s quality was perfect (or something).

I was under the impression that it had been delayed further if it is not out until Q2 now.

Looking forward to it. Doubt we will get eased up on the DLC like some of it being on the cartridge or something, but I think I’ll try to pick the good stuff and enjoy it for what it is.

It was a matter of time till another game I care about, gets DLC I care about and is a game unlikely to get a rerelease with all of the content.

At least they’re reminding us that they still know about it and that it’s coming. This Direct in general seemed aimed at a more niche audience than their last few, actually, what with promoting Devil Survivor and Zero Escape and the Guild01 trio.

    Next summer!? Damn man!

I’ve been overhyped for this game now I have to dowse those flames otherwise I’ll burnt out.

  • Jungo

So… US gets it Q1 2013 then? Just confirming.

    • Grenalie

NoE has been on a roll, high chance they get it earlier than us.

      • Barrylocke89

I think that was the case with Shadow Dragon back on the DS too, actually.

  • TheRealMalek

two good news the same day ?

    *nerd scream*

  • US release date will be after Europe.  NoA loves swiping the NoE translation.  That’s what my irrational thought processes tell me anyway.

  • Tom_Phoenix

Waw, FINALLY, some news regarding the European release.

That said, considering how long we have to wait for the game to come over, I hope they will consider throwing us a bone (like, say, have some of the DLC already included on the cartridge).

  • It’s cool, I can wait NoE. I have Virtue’s Last Reward and SMT: Devil Survivor Overclocked to keep me busy until this one releases :D

  • Good and timely news. 2013 seems to be the year of good tidings.

  • LustEnvy

Oh cool, I can import this for my USA 3DS… oh wait… no I can’t. They better announce it for USA SOON.
