Persona 4: Golden is still a month or so from release, but here’s more footage in the meantime. This is one of the many scenes at Junes with the Investigation Team hanging out with Nanako:

Persona 4: Golden will be released on November 20th in North America and in Spring 2013 in Europe.

  • Paradox me

Ugh, Nanako. Second worst part of the game. Just go live at Junes if you like it so much.

    • topdog2007

       hey leave nanako-chan alone D:<

    • ivanchu77

    • Leon_Tekashi

      Sorry but haters gonna hate?

    • What’s there not to like about Nanako-chan?

      She’s adorable :D

      • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

If even the M.C can fall for Nanako kawaii-ness there, i don’t think any of us can resist Nanako here lol considering how pimp the M.C is.^_^

    • StarWarudo

I’ll bite. What’s the first worst part of the game?

      • Paradox me

Awful dungeons. Great story, great characters (except Nanako; too annoying), excellent turn-based combat system, etc.

Randomly generated dungeons don’t do either it or Persona 3 justice.

        • Grenalie

I’d put honorifics as 3rd, it just sounds awkward.

          • Locklear93

With the full realization that it’s all just personal opinion and there’s no “wrong,” I like having honorifics left in, personally.

        • Chris Yuen

Brotag’s coming after you. “What did you say about MY Nanako!?”

        • Kefkiroth

I’d agree about the dungeons. I’m a newcomer to Persona who’s still playing P3P on my Vita due to all the hype for P4G, and as much as I enjoy the story and the characters, the randomly generated dungeons have plain art and grinding is quite tedious and boring.
The story seems fairly interesting so far (on floor 50-60ish), but I’m hoping that a good plot twist or surprise comes up to motivate me to finish.

          • just to ask but have you ever played P4? if not I can assure you theres more variety in the dungeons then P3(theres more then one dungeon and they all have their ltttle charm and each one is about the lenth of one block of Tartarus, so about ten floors)

          • Kefkiroth

Never played P4, P4G will be my first time. Thanks for the reassurance, as I did hear that P4 has story and game mechanic improvements after P3.

          • Gambit Seven

Yes, that’s some of the reason why I wasn’t particularly impressed with P3. P4 is far less ambitious as far as the premise is concerned, but its more refined and it nails the fundamentals exceptionally well both in story and game play. It has three ‘final bosses’ that are worthy enough to be the game’s final boss, and the dungeons have a much more distinct feel despite being the same concept as Tartarus minus the floors.

You’ll find some plot twists in P3, but the follow up isn’t strong enough to justify the events that triggered it. You’ll get your share of surprises but don’t expect it to be a real game changer. (Xenogears is a great example of a game that does the job and does it exceptionally well)

P4 on the other hand has something that can give you different endings depending on how you go about it.

        • topdog2007

to bad yu going to kick your sorrry ass for saying bad things talking about nanako-chan D:<

        • I’ll take some variety over some huge @ss tower in which every floor looks the same just with new colors any day.

I do agree that them being randomly generated is still kinda bad thou.

    • Neophoton

I’m amazed someone actually dislikes Nanako. :(

    • Brimfyre

Well, it’s official there is a hater for everything.

      • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

        Nothing suprising lol.^_^

    • Well your opinion sucks =V /tisajoke

Talking seriously, mind expanding on that? I’m kinda curious since everyone seems to love her.

      • Paradox me

Nanako has all of the annoying qualities of a real child, but she is ultimately just a fictional character.

Now, it’s entirely possible to feel something for fictional characters, but that something is not love. Not in my case, anyway. I don’t love Nanako as I would a real cousin just as I didn’t love Dojima’s character as a real uncle, Yosuke as a best friend or any of the girls as actual love interests.

Unfortunately for Nanako, the only way I’ll ever be able to stomach an annoying child is if I love it.

For example, if my kid is throwing a tantrum in a store aisle because I won’t buy him Super Awesome Toy 3000™, I won’t be happy, but I’ll cope with and forgive it easier because I would care a great deal for this annoying little monster. If a complete stranger’s child did the same, that kid would be little more than an annoyance to me.

That’s Nanako. She is that stranger’s annoying child.

It also doesn’t help that Japanese “cuteness” is also mildly annoying, and that I don’t see it as the be all, end all of a good character. In fact, ‘mildly annoying’ is putting it very lightly.

    • Luna Kazemaru

Wow everyone just put you on blast lol

    • M’iau M’iaut

Opinions are OK. :P Someone has to hate chocolate ice cream too, I just don’t have to agree. :P

  • DanijoEX

Nanako looks adorable. Can you resist not liking her?

    Edit: Spelling error…

    • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

      I know i like Nanako too.^_^ GO GO Onii-chan!!!^_^

      • And Dojima approve it. (P4Anime)

  • Kawens

I don’t know… I’ve played P4 on PS2 a little, but now that I’m playing P3P on my Vita, I really appreciate the voice work. I wish I could use the original voices, but well, P3P voice doesn’t lack a soul like MOST of the games. And then this clip hasn’t the same enthusiasm that P3P has. Do I have to worry? Isn’t there an option to listen to the original voices?

    • AlexanderPappas

The only voices in P4G that are different are chie and teddie. P4 definately has some enthusiastic voice acting, but this clip was a really bad choice to show off the voice acting. It wasn’t amazing in this clip.

  • Oltheros

    Hey Atlus.

Thanks again for dub-only, you really listen to fans.

    • M’iau M’iaut

This really seems to be the quite dead horse you love to flog. No company has been more upfront with the realities of fees and space as regards dual audio than Atlus. Even with the amazing Japanese VAs that have been in P3 and P4, the English language versions more than hold their own.

    • Luna Kazemaru

      Get over it

      • Oltheros

I think you guys are more bothered by my mentioning of it than I am by the actual lack of a feature.

It’s too bad, I’m just trying to let Atlus know what’ll it’ll take for them to have my money.

        • M’iau M’iaut

Not so much, they are just tired of hearing your same comment in one form or another every time languages in video games are brought up. Especially when you are mentioning it in a thread that didn’t even bring up languages in video games.

          • Oltheros

It was clearly relevant because the clips this article links to shows off the English voice acting, of which I am not a fan.

Like I said, maybe I’m just hoping Atlus reads these? Their forums might work better though.

        • Koulamatata

          I don’t think it’s you.
It’s probably moreso the fact that it’s brought up in literally every single Persona related post on any site. Everyone on both sides of the issue are tired of hearing about it.

But by all means, you can’t get what you want unless it’s abundantly clear you want it. So I can’t complain.

          • They can make it as “abundantly clear” as they want, a dead horse is still dead. And it’s not just Persona, but pretty much every other article regarding dual audio features that are nearly impossible to include. What’s up, Tales?

          • Koulamatata

Which is precisely why it’s so annoying.
But it seems like one of those things you’re just not going to be able to avoid hearing about anymore more. So we might as well try to find at least some positive in these complaints or it’s just going to drive everyone nuts. Haha.

That’s not to say I don’t see you point though. I get where you’re coming from. I’m with you. Lol.

    • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

How many times must you beat this dead horse?

    • Koulamatata

Just as much as the fans listen to ATLUS, apparently.

I’m sure they’re just as tired of explaining it as you are complaining about it. This really is a lose-lose situation we got ourselves here.

  • Vitor Duarte

    I looooooove Junes!
I always liked when she says that. But seriously… what did they do to you Chie-chan? Please, I hope you get better from you cold because that voice…

    • Leon_Tekashi

      Eh…You’ll get use to it.

  • Ah… Why Siliconera! D: Now your making me impatient for the game to come out!

    >-< November 20th is still along way! T_T Just reading the title I couldn't resist coming in.

  • Nitraion

Haha chie accent on english Dub is gone…
i just used to hear that chie english accent lol XD

  • Christopher Nunes

It’s hit and miss with Chie’s new voice, honestly I prefer her old voice even though there were at times a hit and miss moments with her, but why can’t she sound as good as she did in P4: Arena? I took a while to get use to it, but it didn’t sound that bad… here, it’s like another VA for Chie! What happened?

Anyway I look forward to getting this game for the Vita, but I’m going to have to wait a while before I get enough money to buy seeing as the Wii U is first on my list to get.

  • I’ll never get used to Chies voice lol.

Its not that its bad, its just strange.

  • rurin

    I need a vita…..

  • oniichan…

  • OatMatadoQuatro

    Oh they missed the line
“Well, you do seem to be great with your hands–Um, never mind.”

  • Nas

I wonder if NIS could include Japanese voice for the European version.
    one can only wish…
