Virtua Fighter 2 And Sonic the Fighters Rated For Xbox 360

It looks like Sega are planning more re-releases of their back-catalogue at some point in the near future.

The USK, Germany’s ratings board, recently published ratings for Virtua Fighter 2, Fighting Vipers and Sonic the Fighters for the Xbox 360, The Verge reports.

Note that these ratings don’t mean that the three games will not be multiplatform titles. Earlier this year, Sega released other older titles such as Daytona USA, NiGHTS into Dreams, Sonic Adventure 2 and others on both Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network.

A high five for Siliconera reader, Fulvio, for the heads up!

  • Fighting Vipers!  Got to play that one.  I would double dip VF2 cause I have the Saturn copy but no more Saturn. D:

Sonic the Fighters was quite fun on Gems collection, a novelty with awesome music and slapstick humor.  I wouldn’t mind if they add in additional stuff to it.

  • Fortunately for us PS3 owners, can play Virtua Fighter 2 by getting Yakuza 5.

I was coming in here just to say the same thing.  Beat me to it.

Hmm, hopefully this’ll be another Vintage Collection, where all 3 games are bundled together, especially since they’re all Saturn/Sega Model 2 arcade games.

Also, hoping for Fighters Megamix to be ported/re-released. I want to play the only fighting game where you get to control Hornet from Daytona USA:

I was just wondering about the possibilty of Sonic the Fighters porting to XBLA!

Im hoping for Honey the Cat as a playable character.

  • Kris

You have no idea how happy I am that Sonic the Fighters could be thrown on XBLA. It was an incredibly important part of my childhood arcade experience!

Sure it’s kind of… awful, but it was colorful and it felt awesome to fight people as Knuckles!

Excellent. It will be a matter of time until we get all of Sega arcade
    classics on DLC form.

And yes counting down to all the Panzer Dragoon games, Skies of Arcadia and
    the elusive Shenmue series…
