Namco Bandai have released new screenshots for Power Rangers Super Samurai for the Kinect, along with a release date announcement. You can view the new screens below.

As previously reported, the game lets you play as the different rangers and use the Kinect peripheral to control both them and the new MegaZord. Power Rangers: Super Samurai will be released on November 20th in North America. You can watch camera footage of the game here.

The demo I tried at NYCC was so abysmally bad I cannot believe it’s being put out. An entire area was set aside with a place to stand for me to try out the game, so really there should have been minimal issues with the Kinect. Attacking really just became a matter of me waving my arm and HOPING the Kinect picked it up. (Needless to say, my arms were really tired by the end of the demo.)

Trying to do special moves required me to be willing to try to perform them repeatedly, and often it didn’t respond at all.

Ducking was a hit or miss, and required me to throw myself down in order to dodge attacks…and sometimes I got hit anyway. Luckily, the demo doesn’t kill you for running out of energy, so I got to keep swinging at the boss until I won.

The little features of recording you and letting you do the transformation sequence were cute, and are a good start.

But man, this is worse than the worst waggle of the Wiimote. I’m rather disappointed, because it’s one of those games where the premise and promise are just so much better than the delivery.

The Kinect is perfectly capable of responding and reacting better than what I went through. I just don’t know what was wrong with that demo, but right now? The game is simply not worth it.

I’m hoping in the near future Koei will give us a Mighty Morphin Musou. It’s like the perfect match.

This doesnt look good at all. Hopefully it PLAYS good.

    • Considering Ranger Cross and Power Rangers: Samurai were really weak games… I’m not expecting much effort here either.

Can it be any worse than those two Wii games that came out last year? (the PR one and the Super Sentai import one)
