Mutant Mudds On 3DS Gets 20 New Levels As Free DLC

In August, Renegade Kid released an updated version of Mutant Mudds for the PC, that included all of the stages from the Nintendo 3DS version of the game, as well as 20 new levels featuring Grannie, Max’s grandma.

These 20 stages are now being released as a free update for the Nintendo 3DS version of Mutant Mudds via the Nintendo eShop. They’ll be available on October 25th in North America and October 18th in Europe.

You can watch a new trailer for the free levels update above. Mutant Mudds costs $8.99 on the Nintendo eShop. A “Deluxe” version of the game is also in development for the Wii U.

Huh.  On one hand, I would rather play this game on Wii U than 3DS.  If I save it for when I have a Wii U, then I have a guaranteed solid game to play on the new hardware when it’s early in the console’s lifespan and software is scarce.  On the other hand, this trailer makes it look like the game takes good advantage of the 3D effect with jumping into the background…

Do other people here have thoughts about the optimal system to play this game on?

    • For me, personally, the 3D effect was what gave the game its visual appeal.

I haven’t played the PC version, but on a system like a PC or a console, the visual style appears a little too simple in comparison to the 3DS version, IMO. The 3D effect (and portability) is what helps sell it to me.
